EX Ruby & Sapphire is the first set manufactured by The Pokemon Company International. It focuses on the region of Hoenn and its Pokemon roster, i.e. the GBA games Ruby and Sapphire. It also included a new game mechanic; ex cards. These cards are essentially more powerful versions of earlier cards, however if an ex got knocked out, the opposing player got to take two prize cards instead of just one.
