@Rickdaily12 Likely the culprit is More Perk Points which reverts all global settings back to their default, including spy levels. More Perk Points is not compatible with most mods because the mod author did not trim the file to only include the line controlling perk points.

Hey Spud! This mod is amazing, it really invigorates the replay value of the game, so thanks for making this. I did want to ask though: are your Spy changes still working? My spies no longer level up past level 5 anymore, and I don't think I have any mods that would conflict with espionage?

Mods I'm using are: 5X -> UCP -> UCP Steam WS -> DSMP -> 5XCPC -> Custom 5XDSMP -> Even Bigger Planets -> More Perk Points -> Stronger Ships Remastered -> AI Can't Ignore you

I liked your spy changes before, they really made Spies still worth using after the AI starts building security upgrades, so any input about this would be appreciated!

Very essencial mod to play the game right now. With this mods, we will probably never go back to vanilla nor released version of the game. Thank you so much for this one. It will enable us to implement and install even more mods based in this compatibility. But , in the other hand, we will be very carefull to select mod loading order and just including new mods that only include and add new ships and new planets. Not remove nor overhaul any deep & complex systems from the game to avoid bugs. :ACODC_Crest:

Based on your install order, i still do not see that you have two copies of UCP present, which would indicate that you did the manual installation process including running the Java installer. You can verify that UCP is installed correctly by checking that the UCP version menu is present at the top right in the main menu.

The game will rarely be able to go beyond turn 50-100 after that it just locks up even when I turn off all auto build. Which has been the most common problem.

im using in this order that I am understanding to be proper.

5x
ucp
Diverse specials -5x/ucp
5x ucp compatibility

I couldn't find any others that seemed necessary. Let me know if I am in error

yeah it just sucks that i spent so any precious hours trying to make it work. This has been a great lesson to never use 3rd party platforms for anything. I was so much better off doing things on my own

Technical issues suck, especially when you only have a limited time to play. Sorry you couldn't make things work. These mods do function properly, but sometimes the installation process isn't easy for some people or there are technical issues with Steam.

Regretfully nothing on steam works for me anymore, I followed your directions to the best of my understanding and nothing seems to work.

If it does work the game locks up after 50+ turns making the game pointless.
Especially for me since I prefer the long game.


I was put in the hospital earlier this week and just hoped to play a couple games while I was healing. I have sadly spent this whole week troubleshooting steam and nothing works. Not even games I bought outside of steam. I bought new computer for this and everything,

Oh well, all the more reason for me to end my steam account and figure out a smarter way to play games if I ever end up in the hospotal again.

The level of stress trying to get a dumb half built game from 2017 is incredibly far too high


I appreciate everything that you have tried to do for this game. I loved it so much growing up.
I hope that your vision pushes the game to the next stages

Make sure you follow the manual instructions for installing UCP, as found on that mod page. It requires more than just subscribing. Beyond that, you need your mod order right in game, so go to the mods menu and check that you have your mods in the order listed near the top of this mod's description. I have started about 30 new games and non of them go beyond medium size. I get that its 2024 and no one really communicates clearly anymore. but can we try to cut through the BS

You may not be aware that with UCP installed, each transport takes marines from the planet where it is built. You must have sufficient marines (4) to build a transport.

How do I do that? All the mods show up on one list. I don't get to pick the order in which they are loaded.

Regarding Tal'Raziid's comment on May 13 about his ship designer being broken... I thought I encountered the same bug. However, I realized that I was playing a pre-warp start, so no designs for frigate, bomb ketch, etc. were available in the ship blueprint designer until I researched them. So just FYI for anyone else. It seems that with a pre-warp start you can open the ship blueprint designer after researching the scout, however you will not be able to customize ship blueprints until after researching the frigate class and other classes of ships.

Sounds like you might not have UCP installed properly since I only see one copy of it in your mod order. Did you run the installer?

My ship designer is broken, hull/mdoel/theme etc are all blanked out and i cannot select any of them. I believe it to be related to using a custom race

The last update was Feb 29. If you haven't changed anything since then, it's possible the unofficial code patch got uninstalled somehow, which seems to be happening to some people lately. Try running the UCP installer again.

I have a game running with these mods:
- 5X - The Ultimate Balance Mod
- Unofficial Code Patch
- Div planets
- 5X UCP Compatibility Mod
Since today, when I try to load my savegame, it says" different mod combination" - although I have exactly the same mods in same order active.
And when I try to start a new game, it is loading endless and finally crashes.
Any ideas what I can do to make this work again?

How did you add Unofficial Code Patch to your mod order? Was it by running the java installer that comes with the "unofficial code patch steam workshop" mod, which creates the "Unofficial Code Patch" local mod? Did you follow the instructions?

Only difference between now and the last time I played moo is the PC.My last system which i still have was windows7 and i was running that up until steam said it would no longer support win7.Was playing Stellaris but when multiplayer kept crashing due to sync error we decided to go back to Moo this past december.My new PC is running win10pro so maybe its the OS???

i uninstalled Moo and the mods.Restarted the PC installed Moo ran a new game everything worked ended game then added mods in this order.

I started the game the mods where already in the correct order.I selected single player and the screen shifted but no text appeared for me to start a new game.As i said in the first post from this point the only way i can get Moo to run is by replacing "the unoffical code path" with the "unoffical code patch steam workshop".However there are bugs and spy difficulty for missions is always low and always succeed for player and AI.

grimstar359 it sounds like you may have a UCP install issue. You listed your mods twice, and in the first list you included Unofficial Code Patch but in your second list you did not. I just need you to verify that you followed the UCP install instructions, which involves finding the files on your computer and running the UCP installer. If UCP is installed correctly, the UCP version shows on the top right of the main menu. Make sure the local UCP mod (the not Steam Workshop one) is between 5X and 5XCPC

when i tried to start a game in single player when getting to the new game screen it would be blank.I tried multiplayer and it would start and run but when it got around to next turn it would do nothing.After removing mods and changing mod order i finally got the game to start and run but im almost certain it not working correctly because spies seem to always work.Mission difficulty is always low and the auto-combat does some weird stuff at times.To get my game running this is my mod load order...

I think I have found an issue in 5XCPC with regards to buying ships in bulk.

I think that with the introduction of UCP 6.4. (since this wasnt the case with UCP 6.3.) WhatIsSol included in Globals.YAML at - globals: &Backend.Settlements.Colony the line:

ALLOW_BULK_BUY with either 0 or 1 (with 0 disable and 1 enable).

I have already tested this myself and looked at Globals.YAML file to verify and indeed 5XCPC does not have line added yet.

since 5XCPC is "below" UCP in the mod list, could you add this into the mod aswell so it will overwright UCP Globals.YAML?

I don't know if you're just bumping the last comment, but note that the miniaturization issue was fixed in the latest UCP update. Re-run the UCP installer to update.

The miniaturizations for some things in the later techs (the added techs in 5X) seem to be broken. An example is the miniaturization_fields (including hard shields among other things). They do not apply the effect when researched, i.e. they remain the same size and cost.

I noticed the issue and tried to disable all other mods than 5X, UCP and 5XCPC. The issue persisted. I then tried uninstalling the game, purging all remnants of it from my computer, then reinstalling with ONLY these mods (and yes, installing UCP the proper way). The issue is still there, so something is definately broken. Load order is as instructed here.

I have not tried replicating it in 5X without UCP, as without UCP the cheats to get to the endgame techs fast for checking if they work do not exist. /sign

That indicates you don't have the unofficial code patch installed properly. That trait and this mod will not function without UCP. Be sure to follow the install instructions on the UCP page.

When 5X UCP Compatibility Mod (5XCPC) is activated, an unidentified race trait shows up in POPULATION GROWTH under Aquatic Population Bonus, called:

PERK_ADAPTIVE_NAME (cost shown for this trait is 7)

What is this trait supposed to be and if I select it will it work correctly even though there is an error in the description?

@Helix CheapPerks overwrites all race perks and is generally not compatible with 5X. It's also not necessary to use with 5X because 5X already includes a custom race perk that gives 200 free points. Try disabling that mod and see if it fixes your issues.

This is the version I have here from the workshop. Have it also Instaliert as Jawa.
My mod order is:

When creating I can only select custom race or random, but have no images for the races.
When selecting Perks I can select other races but have no image to the races. Only after creating the race.

In the game itself the diplomat window is distorted and no selection of races.

I can only act diplomatically via Captured Spies.

@Helix. It sounds like your UCP installation when wrong somehow. In particular you are missing at least the local mod portion of it that shows up in the mods menu in game.

@TakeZor Most likely you have some mod conflict. What is your full mod list?
