yes, if you get enough money late game it is okay. but sometimes money is needed in civ, though rarely. in late game units are produced very quickly so its really dumb and pointless.
her ability should be "all her units are the strongest on the map or simply and without jokes give her bonus on tundra and snow"
Andrew Whiteingale 24 Jan @ 1:22am
the upkeep cost thing is silly. its not really balance, its just annoying design.

remake the cirno mod so that its actually good with her own units

sup weebs, playing an anime pack for the lolz and this civ is in the pack. for some reason they are constantly about 10-20% ahead in tech (6 difficalty). Now when i check the replay at the end of the game they normaly cap at like 300 - 500 science. meanwhile i am at 2000+ with 4 citys yet the still win a science victory like 30 turns before i can. Using my 1000hrs+ of civ 5 experience i can deduce that there is something fishy going on here.

Haven't even downloaded this, and Cirno's greeting dialogue from the first picture just made my day.
TiraboTurbos 26 Sep, 2017 @ 8:05pm
Since she's an Ice Fairy, you'd think she'd have some benefit to snow/tundra tiles.
nicovallejos 11 Nov, 2016 @ 7:45pm
Looks like all of the Touhou civs since they were currently out of date and haven't had a mod support from JFD's Cultural Diversity whom its version is now 13, are, by default, culturally classified as Colonial... :steamsad:

WMXPY, I'd love to help you translate the mod. I think it's good if you allow other people to use the translation, too. But I don't understand what your problem is. Could you say it again, with more detail?
WMPCXPY 6 Feb, 2016 @ 3:56pm
I'm tring to translate this mod to japanese for !!!MY OWN USE!!!, but text just display like garbled, not text not found like "TXT_KEY_MENU" thing, just unreadable garbled text.:rage:

The Ebil Kitten is either playing on high difficulties or not playing right. I kinda got over a hundred gold per turn outside of golden ages with Cirno. How, you ask? I spammed settlers early game.

I'm slightly confused, does the production bonus apply to everything or just units? Does this count for Settlers and workers as well, or just combat units?

I won't lie.. cirno is amazing. She is hilarious to play with and against. Her messages are the best. Her civilization is amazing to play as as well. Trying to balance economy with double unit costs is actually a real trick. This is one of my favorite mods. Especially since I can some times turn ont eh game, start a game with my Cirno Leader, just to listen to the amazing sound tracks. They all sound so well made. They fit well with the music of the game and you can tell where each one comes from.

This is my favorite mod I've downloaded for just about any game. The only thing it needs, its a voice reading for the loading screen for Cirno!
Kyte 6 Mar, 2014 @ 8:47am
@Raineh: Cirno's AI really likes to expand. We're talking Montezuma-tier here.
Raineh Daze 18 Feb, 2014 @ 5:05pm
What is up with her AI? She's been building cities everywhere... including sandwiched between mine. And they're all tiny things. O_o
Huitzil  [author] 18 Feb, 2014 @ 4:25pm
You have NO idea how much that means to me -- it was a LOT of work to fill it all out, and it is good to know that people notice!
Raineh Daze 18 Feb, 2014 @ 1:00pm
Cirno's diplomatic messages are amazing.
cicero225 28 Jan, 2014 @ 10:23pm
I don't know. The civ I made absolutely would not found a religion, even when I forcefed it great prophets with IGE, until I gave it a preferred religion.

That was the only reason I noticed actually, because I was sending missionaries at cirno one game when she didn't have a religion (and there were 2 still to be founded) and I saw 3 great prophets standing around her capital doing nothing. Which looked exactly like what I saw in my civ before I gave her a shinto preference.
Huitzil  [author] 28 Jan, 2014 @ 9:57pm
That's... weird. When I play against her, she founds religions just fine; she appears to pick them at random. (I've seen Hinduism, Buddhism, Protestantism, and I think Zoroastrianism). I never put in a preferred religion, and I thought that was the behavior for it by default.
cicero225 28 Jan, 2014 @ 8:55pm
I think you're missing a preferred religion for Cirno. For some reason, if you don't set a preferred religion, the AI will never found one, even if they have the great prophet. It's obvious, because I've seen great prophets wander her lands doing nothing while she has no religion and they can still be founded.

It needs to have: <Civilization_Religions>
<Row>
<CivilizationType>
CIVILIZATION_WHATEVER
</CivilizationType>
<ReligionType>
RELIGION_WHATEVER
</ReligionType>
</Row>
</Civilization_Religions>

somewhere in the xml.

I looked for it, and couldn't find it. If I just missed it, sorry.
RElentless 21 Jan, 2014 @ 3:46pm
Ahh I didn't know that. Bit of an odd quirk right there.
Huitzil  [author] 21 Jan, 2014 @ 11:09am
I can't fix that, sadly. For some reason, when you update a text field (changing it from something to something else), it changes all apostrophes to quotation marks. TYo be compatible with G+K only, I have to first set all the attributes and text fields of the Art Center for G+K, then have a separate file that updates them to BNW to have a GW slot instead of specialist, which the game will not run if BNW isn't installed. So every text field with information that's different in BNW and G+K will have " instead of '.
RElentless 20 Jan, 2014 @ 10:09pm
Typos found in the Cilopedia entry for the Art Center: There are a number of times in the 'Historial Info" field where there are " instead of '
RElentless 20 Jan, 2014 @ 8:29pm
An odd thing I noticed was With the title declaration for a turn start it refers to Cirno as '[Title] Cirno of Fairy Alliance' Maybe it could be changed to '[Title] Cirno of The Fairy Alliance"?
Ganondwarf 11 Jan, 2014 @ 6:49pm
Yea I was going to post an edit before going to work but I didn't have the time. I realized I was on V.4 and now that intro song I was talking about does not play at the start (I have yet to hear it in game as well). There are also some songs that seem to cut off in the middle of it (the best parts imo), is this supposed to happen or an user error on my end?
Huitzil  [author] 11 Jan, 2014 @ 3:47pm
Every song that plays for Cirno should be Touhou music, if you have it patched to the latest version.
Ganondwarf 11 Jan, 2014 @ 11:39am
I like the intro music as you start playing after a load. Is there a way I can change the other songs that play to say more Touhou music?
Huitzil  [author] 2 Dec, 2013 @ 8:29pm
Unfortunately, even though it was funny, I had to take it out and put the Great Work of Writing slot back. Turns out it broke things a lot mroe than I thought to have the Art Center host a GW of Art.
Schaden 2 Dec, 2013 @ 2:54pm
"...because fairies can't read." made me laugh.
SoS.Cabrony 20 Nov, 2013 @ 2:32pm
my spring heralds only have 1 range in my game instead of 2,that kinda sux.

but i play with all the communitas unoficial patches from thalassicus so maybe that broke it.

the double maintanence didnt bother me much,just took my zerg army and started roflstomping the other civs,demanding tribute from CS and pillaging,thats a lot of gold! :SocialPolicy:
Huitzil  [author] 19 Nov, 2013 @ 3:45pm
Cirno's ability IS a powerful benefit, it's just tricky to use. Simply put, unless someone is a completely runaway power or you're already hilariously behind, nobody in the world is going to be able to match your military production capacity. And that is huge. Baiting AIs into wars can be very beneficial -- because you don't have to fully crush them, you just need to scare them with the size of your army, and they will give you resources and cities to ward off your wrath without any diplomacy penalty. A friend of mine was playing cultural/defensive and got Washington to gift him three cities this way, it was HILARIOUS.
Drachnon 19 Nov, 2013 @ 12:45pm
After trying Cirno for a bit I'm starting to wonder if the Unique ability isn't more of a disability then a benefit. Double production rate isn't going to help you if you maxed out on units against another empire that has their army at your doorstep and take 2 cities before you can get even a smaller force ready.
Also the tactic of disbanding your army between wars means that all aggressive AI's consider your nation weak and promting them to attack you. Even if you manage to hold them off most likely this sets you back compared to other civs.
My idea for Cirno's special ability would be that enemy units suffer damage each turn they spend in fairy territory (because all fearies come out to play with them). Though I'm not sure if that is possible.
Ducklord 2 Oct, 2013 @ 9:48am
the mod doesnt appear in my mods section :/
Ignazio 21 Aug, 2013 @ 9:29am
Right, Celts are not in the vanilla Civ. And yeah I know you didn't aim for the arabic music. Anyway, can you also make the architecture etc. european? It would fit more. As for the remix, 魔の氷結 is the title, while name of the circle is 流派未確定 (Ryuuha Mikakutei) but apparently the artist responsible for this arrangement and album is 玖原イヅナ (Kuhara Izuna). Btw, you chose my favourite arrangement of Nuclear Fusion for the war theme of Utsuho's civ, that's just awesome. :P
Huitzil  [author] 21 Aug, 2013 @ 7:17am
I am going to be honest here: Cirno and Okuu replace Suleiman and Askia not because of the appropriateness of the soundtrack or secondary effects, but because I think those are the two most useless leaders in vanilla Civ and miss them the least. I think I can give Cirno another soundtrack tag, though.

What is the name of that remix and who created it, so I can credit it?
Ignazio 20 Aug, 2013 @ 4:25pm
Nicely done, I like how the fairy respawning "tactics" were implemented here by forcing players to play aggressively cause of the maintenance costs. The only thing I would really like changed is the civilization this replaces. Fairies generally are pretty european, Touhou fairies got a totally european design, most of them even got english-based names. In Touhou mod for Civilization IV Cirno's civ replaced Rome, and it was quite a nice choice, as for me. Celts got some fairy stuff pretty early, they could be a good thing to replace in this case, I think. Having all that arabic music etc. doesn't fit here.

I also recommend swapping the current peace track with this: {LINK REMOVED}

Is there no way to move great works of art to the art centers?
John Titor 5 Aug, 2013 @ 6:26pm
I could never turn her down when she asked for something, how do you say no to something so cute?

Well, until she backstabbed me late game and cut off my crayon supplies. That wasn't cool.
Huitzil  [author] 3 Aug, 2013 @ 2:16pm
Her loyalty is set to 4 out of 10, and has been since the beginning. There's always a 2 point variance, so she could be anywhere between a slightly-above-average 6 to a compulsive-backstabber 2.
nepboi 3 Aug, 2013 @ 11:48am
Was she always not loyal?
In the games i usually have her in shes been my bro since the very beginning.
Huitzil  [author] 2 Aug, 2013 @ 4:37pm
Fixed the ampersands. Also, Cirno is very bold, hardly ever deceptive or afraid, not very loyal and incredibly forgiving (she'll forget you were allies, but also forget you betrayed her).
