Can somebody please help me? I've subscribed and unsubscribed and restarted the game a million times. The first time I tried, I was able change the textures. But then I did the integrity thing to get them back to default and now my efforts to change them once again are failing miserably. ???????!??!!????

If this is of any interest to someone using the link shemone posted to get the mines:

AoE uses a shadow graphic for each mine. But that one doesn't contain a shadow but the normal graphic again. For that reason depending on the changed image, you can see parts of the default mines behind the changed ones.

You can also change that shadow graphics by placing a copy of the mines in the slp folder and changing the ending of their name from "_NN" to "_N0".

For any1 who wants the Gold Mine texture that was meant to be included I managed to find them in screenshots of Ozharas mods he then kindly uploaded them for downloading, he confirmed these are the ones that were supposed to be included in this mod.

For any1 who doesn't know how to manually install them they (GOLDM_NN.slp) need to be placed in the following directory: D:\SteamGames\SteamApps\common\Age2HD\Data\Slp, obviously the drive letter/path will vary but hopefully most are intelligent enough to figure this out.


It's abit of a long winded process to get them from 4shared.com but it does work, if anyone struggles let me know and i'll try and make it available on my FTP server.

I would download this mode but only if those bugs I found out reading the comments get resolved along with the apparently lack of gold mines mod.

You didn't credit Matt from the Tales of Middle Earth Mod as the source graphics of those stone mines? Did you even ask for permission if you could use them?

Well this Is the only mod I've found that edits the standard Gold/Stone Mines. The stone mines look much more natural.

I have tress/cliffs/stone mines/ground textures, the texture set will only be complete when I get the gold mine texture. :)

I opened the mod file with WinRAR. I saw a stonm_nn.slp for stone mines, but not any goldm_nn,slp or whatever for gold mines. Perhaps that might be why the gold mines don't change?

Thanks for the new trees and stones. It looks great. The only thing that's not working are the gold mines. They still look like the standard ones on my install.

Everything worked except the gold mines stayed the same. I started with a clean install too.

Delete the 'Data', 'Shaders' and 'Terrain' folder in your root Age2HD folder and verify your game. I'm pretty sure that only 1 of these folders is required to be deleted and I didn't have the time to work it out.

I dislike the mines so I want to uninstall this, but nothing I do seems to fix the problem. What data file is modified and where do the files install so I can manually overwrite these files with clean data files I have?

I have no idea why cliffs could be in the sea for people, it makes no sense really. It might be a map generation thing. My files only replace the texture ingame, which means nothing about the placement or mechanics of the cliffs is changed.

Still looking into the selection issue, there isnt much explanatory stuff about AoE texture editing online so Im sort of out of my depth.

Looks very good! I hope you can get around that "no selection through trees" issue. Will definitely download the v3.
Trees are looking great, but I'm still unsure about the cliffs. Could you put a picture only showing a bare map with cliffs?

It's great, except you can't click past the trees, it's like the whole dimensions of the image is a hotspot for the cursor. Makes the game literally unplayable for me.

Seems to work perfectly exept my gold mines after installing still use the same old texture. Cliffs , trees and stone is updated however.

Wednesday you can easily remove the parts of the mod that you dont want used by deleting the .slp files. Go to the mods folder in the AoE II main folder and open this mod with winrar or any other zip/rar program. There you will see which files I edited, per example all the cliff slp files.

Like I said Mathlic, any terrain mods will work, just dont run any others mods that change the items named above, per example Pesqueira's original mod or any other tree/cliff/mine mod.
