If anyone's looking for a 1.1 version of this, here's something similar: https://steamproxy-script.pipiskins.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2011794898
madcooki 4 Mar, 2020 @ 4:23pm
@nhatanh0475, everything. Game updates are going to break almost every mod because the base game code is likely overhauled is several places.

Secondly, I doubt you intended to come across this way, but your question *can* come across as presumptuous and entitled considering modders such as Thom here do this work for free in their spare time and probably don't have the time or patience to answer vague questions like that from random strangers in the comments section such as yourself :) If you are truly interested in modding, there are some resources available online, and you can probably look at the source code for some of the recently-updated mods out there now too. Either way, you're not likely to going to get a detailed list of source code changes like that without decompiling the game and taking a look for yourself.
nhatanh0475 4 Mar, 2020 @ 6:50am
After you updating it, can you tell us what change in the game that make mods buggy?
four12 26 Feb, 2020 @ 11:09am
Thank you Thom! Nature is Beautiful is a really great mod and should be in vanilla IMO. Who doesn't love trees?? :)
Thom Blair III  [author] 24 Feb, 2020 @ 3:07pm
Hi! I'm working to see if I can figure out how to make the updates for my mods to 1.1. It's a bit slow going, but I am looking into it.
snowy 24 Feb, 2020 @ 1:44pm
1.1 would be a pretty nice addition, I love this mod and my game would feel pretty unplayable if I didn't have it.
Do0m[y] 22 Feb, 2020 @ 5:25am
Hello,

Are you planing to update your mod for the 1.1 version, please?
Zachopotamus 26 Jan, 2020 @ 7:57pm
No problem, I totally understand. Unfortunately at the moment I don't know the next thing about making mods but if I learn I will get in touch with you.
Thom Blair III  [author] 26 Jan, 2020 @ 6:44pm
@Zachopotamus Hi! I wasn't planning on it...it looks like a lot of work. But, if you'd like to help, maybe I could be talked into it.
Zachopotamus 25 Jan, 2020 @ 7:14pm
Any plans to add support for plants added by Vegetable Garden?
jptrrs 14 Jan, 2020 @ 10:20am
Just sent you a chat invite.
Thom Blair III  [author] 14 Jan, 2020 @ 10:07am
Hi @jptrrs! I'd be glad to do that if I had any idea what that is. (I didn't write the code for that part.) If you'd be willing to provide me with an appropriate fixed file, I will upload it as you wish. Just let me know...cheers
jptrrs 13 Jan, 2020 @ 1:16pm
Hi @Thom. Your mod is one of those we can easily say "it should be in vanilla!" It's essencial in my games. So much so I'm designing my next mod to adapt around the beauty stats from Nature is Beautiful! But in doing so, I noticed something I should probably call to your attention, as it could become a compatibility obstacle... Here's the thing: both "FindMod" patch operation and the Harmony functions rely on a mod's name - as defined in About.xml - to look for it. But since you include the number version on your mod's name, this means any mod that references yours will break as soon as you update and change that version! So everyone trying to develop a seamless integration do NiB will have to forever keep an eye on what you're doing!
Would you consider settling on a permanent name on your About file? Thank you very much.
Thom Blair III  [author] 7 Jan, 2020 @ 9:57pm
@Thundercraft Please feel free to use any or all of my mod(s) as you want as long as you give credit to the people listed in the mod's credit section. I gave credit to people who helped me make my mods because some of them wanted to be given credit. Other than that, feel free to use my mods as you wish. Enjoy!
Thundercraft 7 Jan, 2020 @ 11:04am
Can I make a patch for this to tweak a few things? Neither this mod nor the [rebalanced] version fit my needs. I like everything this mod does, except:

1. Rough stone ground/floors now have a beauty of 1 instead of -1
2. Rock rubble has a beauty of 0 instead of -4
3. Added beauty of 1 for grass, tall grass and bushes

(1) Rough stone ground/floors with a beauty of 1 removes the incentive for using the [Smooth surface] order or for man-made flooring.
(2) Rock rubble is just that: rubble. It's literally a pile of rock dust and broken rocks. It should definitely have a penalty. Otherwise, where's the incentive to clean it up?
(3) While I can see the benefit of having it 1, I still think grass and tall grass should be 0

Keep in mind: By default, Dandelions have a beauty of just 4, Clivia (flowering plant) only has a beauty of 2, and Agave has a beauty of 0. Why should rough stone, grass or tall grass have a beauty greater than Agave?
Azuwi 17 Sep, 2019 @ 2:16am
Im getting incomptatible errors when trying use this mod, something to do with water I think. I think i got a mod that adds deep/shallow water to game, maybe its incompatible with that mod?
Thom Blair III  [author] 29 Aug, 2019 @ 6:46pm
@TechSY730 I'm wondering which vanilla plants don't have beauty values. I'm also wondering if I'd have to set a beauty value for each vanilla plant or if there is a parent/base plant some derive their stats from.
TechSY730 29 Aug, 2019 @ 6:17pm
Are you asking which vanilla plants don't have beauty values where similar RimCuisine plants do?
Or which RimCuisine basic plants have beauty values that probably shouldn't like vanilla's don't?
Thom Blair III  [author] 29 Aug, 2019 @ 5:40pm
@TechSY730 Well, I suppose that is a bit odd. Would you be willing to help figure out which plants need beauty values?
TechSY730 29 Aug, 2019 @ 4:58pm
RimCuisine support is awesome, thanks. :)

But now the RimCuisine harvestable non-tree plants have 2 beauty and the vanilla ones don't, which is a bit weird. ;)
Thom Blair III  [author] 23 Aug, 2019 @ 1:28pm
@NECEROS Ok, I've started a discussion where we you can post values:
https://steamproxy-script.pipiskins.com/workshop/filedetails/discussion/1530259312/1639794651166903313/
NECEROS 23 Aug, 2019 @ 12:09pm
Sure! I'll get a list together for you.
Thom Blair III  [author] 23 Aug, 2019 @ 10:27am
@NECEROS Ok, I'll see what I can do. However, I could use some help deciding what values to assign to which plants. Would you be interested in deciding what value for each plant?
NECEROS 23 Aug, 2019 @ 1:37am
I love this mod. Can you please include a patch to beautify Rimcuisine 2.0 trees and plants? <3
Rusturion 16 Aug, 2019 @ 3:20am
This mod also supports Impassable Chest-deep Water (Modified Version)
since it is a direct rip of the below mentioned Impassable Chest-deep Water mod with minimal alterations, therefore having an identical name in about.xml.
Probably a happy accident.
lobosan 4 Aug, 2019 @ 11:56am
Thanks!
Thom Blair III  [author] 4 Aug, 2019 @ 11:24am
@lobosan This is the Impassable water mod that is supported: Impassable Chest-deep Water
雷霆特大番薯⚡ 2 Aug, 2019 @ 8:58pm
太棒了,支持!!!!!:steamhappy:
lobosan 2 Aug, 2019 @ 8:20pm
Thanks Thom Blair III - there are several impassible water mods
Thom Blair III  [author] 2 Aug, 2019 @ 8:14pm
@lobosan I don’t know...this is where Crunchy Duck’s code appears in Steam workshop: Beautiful Water
lobosan 2 Aug, 2019 @ 9:45am
Is Dropbear_Ninja.wa.au = Crunchy Duck?
Thom Blair III  [author] 25 Jul, 2019 @ 10:20am
@Karmapowered Thanks for the offer for the ko-fi, but it's not needed. I hope you enjoy the mod! :)
Karmapowered 25 Jul, 2019 @ 9:52am
Also thank you very much to @CrunchyDuck and everyone else who contributed, obviously!
Karmapowered 25 Jul, 2019 @ 9:50am
You have my gratitude for your continued fine work, that was much faster than I expected.

It's always the "small" things like this that add to my most memorable play throughs, and I am eager to check out the results this week-end in my next one.

I would be happy to send you a small tip if you could direct me to your https://ko-fi.com/ account (or equivalent, no PayPal please).
Thom Blair III  [author] 25 Jul, 2019 @ 9:43am
@Karmapowered I've just added support for enhanced water beauty values, following Beautiful Water's values.

Version 2.0 notes:
By request, I increased water's beauty as follows:
- Shallow water: 1
- Moving shallow water: 1
- Deep water: 15
- Shallow ocean water: 5
- Deep ocean water: 25
Added Crunchy Duck's support for the "Impassable Chest-deep Water" mod
- If the mod is being used, then Chest-Deep Moving Water has a beauty of 15.
- If not, then it has a beauty of 5
Thanks to Crunchy Duck and Oken for their work on this
Thom Blair III  [author] 25 Jul, 2019 @ 7:37am
@Karmapowered Glad to help if I can. We'll see if we can figure out how to do it. Maybe I can figure out how to add water beauty easily.
Karmapowered 24 Jul, 2019 @ 8:43pm
I just would like to thank you for trying, and contacting your fellow mod author. Also, you are too humble : your mod is a very good one that many I think enjoy. Please have a nice day.
Thom Blair III  [author] 24 Jul, 2019 @ 12:46pm
@Karmapowered I'm not very good with Rimworld mods, to be honest. I don't know why these two mods conflict. I'll try to contact the mod author and see what can be done.
Karmapowered 24 Jul, 2019 @ 6:00am
Could you be convinced to create a patch for the Beautiful water mod, for both mods not to collide if they are loaded together ? Maybe as a collaboration with the other mod author ?

Thank you for creating and sharing this mod in any case.
Thom Blair III  [author] 8 May, 2019 @ 8:41am
@Ninja Kitten I think I set all the water a neutral beauty.
Eclipse 8 May, 2019 @ 7:27am
What about water numbers?
Thom Blair III  [author] 6 May, 2019 @ 12:18am
@Xavilen Please feel free to use my mod & it's code for anything you'd like. I'd be very happy if people could have a version they felt was balanced like they like it.
Rusturion 5 May, 2019 @ 10:12pm
I agree with taosaur 100%.

Would you have any problem with someone rebalancing and reuploading your mod? With credit, of course
taosaur 3 May, 2019 @ 2:31pm
Making rough stone nice and rock rubble fine seems both OP and not in the spirit of the mod. They're not things people are going to be thrilled to find out in nature, and in-game they are mostly encountered in a base under construction. Having your pawns just fine with living in an unimproved cave is a pretty big early game buff. Don't get me wrong, great work on the mod overall, just some feedback.
