Is it possible to create a portal at level 150 to continue playing?

@Jᴧgᴧ

Notes/Bugs:
* A portal to the Eternal Realm shows up far below the Final Boss Room due to a merge bug. Be careful while fighting it. Worst case scenario, temporarily disable the mod if you are preparing to fight the final boss until this bug can be fixed.

Isn't it about this portal?
Jᴧgᴧ 4 Jul, 2022 @ 10:21am
8 years later and the portal in the final boss room still hasn't been fixed/removed. Just bit me in the ass - have to re-do the entire Broken Mines area again.

A warning to others - when you enter the Broken Mines, save and DISABLE this mod! If you're playing Synergies and/or Essentials, disable it anyway as it doesn't add that much to gameplay.

The order is important for items that might overlap with items at the top taking priority over ones lower on the list. Since most of those are cosmetics or stat related and Endless only affects maps and some shop recipes, that order should work fine in relation to the dungeon.
Grandmaster Mitko 20 Jul, 2020 @ 8:36am
Yo can i ask u something how do i understand what mod orders are fine and which are not cuz i wanna use the endless dungeon mod with these mods:

Cosmetic Slots
Fashion Gear
Alternate Outfits
Enhanced Character Creation
Cosmetic Armor Sets\
Level 500,more skills and more stats

It should work, from what I have seen in the past, but you may end up needing to enter it using maps rather than actual portal entrances. I've heard of some interaction issues with Synergies in the past, but putting it on the bottom should work. If it doesn't, try giving my 'Multiplayer Fix' version a try as it changes how the dungeons are generated on the back end somewhat and may interact better.

Good luck!

Thanks! Glad to hear you both enjoyed it coming from someone who often gamed with my Dad as well.
Tymn 27 May, 2020 @ 9:44am
I like this mod! My dad and I had gotten bored with the vanilla, and wanted to try new characters. This mod helped us level up very quickly, in a fun environment, and get good equipment quickly, too! Quite a help!

Then as we wanted to get to better towns for the merchants, we were able to zip through. :)

Good job!

Hi, thanks for enjoying it. Unfortunately adding Act 2 and 3 areas proved to be a significant feat back when I was building this and I didnt end up having the time. It is pretty much in its final state, save for some bug fixing I tried last year, as seen in the version: "Endless Dungeon - Multiplayer Fix BETA". If there are issues encountered with this version, I would advise trying my newer one.
Gerardcha 5 May, 2020 @ 3:50pm
Hello. I'm glad i found this mod. It is a great idea to present and varying vanilla content like this. We'll be able to keep enjoying this game even more and more years.

I have to ask, anyway: Is this mod finished? I read "Eventually Outdoor areas from Act 2 and Act 3 will be included" in the description, but i've no idea if project is still active.
Congratulations again for such a good mod.
wesmagyar 1 May, 2020 @ 10:03pm
any chance of getting this updated to the newest version?
Wayback  [author] 30 Dec, 2019 @ 4:55pm
I don' have it installed right now so I can't test it, but since there are several items introduced (certain maps) it may bind our save if you have those. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
Sir Spoony 29 Dec, 2019 @ 1:48pm
Hoping this was not asked, but with 41 pages could possibly miss, but regardless does this bind to your characters or can this be used on/off without any worries?

thanks!:cozybethesda:

I really love this mod! Thanks for making it
⎠Lɜ 30 Aug, 2019 @ 9:27am
Im sry I cant figure out where this portal to the endless dungeon is. I checked in every "city".
Do I have to complete the game by finishing all main quests first or smthng?
TheDisturbedDragon 3 Aug, 2019 @ 5:01pm
I managed to fix my issue by starting a new game, I guess it was an issue with starting mid-game. Thanks anyway :)
Wayback  [author] 3 Aug, 2019 @ 9:01am
You could try changing the mod load order to put the dungeon below it.

As for version, I havent seen any issue, but I did create a newer version in an attempt to fix multiplayer issues if you check my workshop.
IceMaverick 30 Jul, 2019 @ 11:30am
Should the notice that this was compiled for an older version or TL2 be any concern when running it?
TheDisturbedDragon 28 Jul, 2019 @ 5:22pm
After installing this mod the ADVP2 level tweaker mod stopped working. It's meant to scale vanilla stuff up to your level, which if I'm understanding this correctly, this does in it's dungeon, but not anywhere else. Is there any way to make them compatible?
Wayback  [author] 10 Jul, 2019 @ 9:11pm
Accepted. I've seen about 40 sum odd folks subscribing to the mp beta version with no notes of problems so far. I've also taken the opportunity to make a handful of new tileset/lighting mixes and laid the foundation for making the desert style random levels like I wanted to before I burnt out on it years ago. Once i feel happy about testing those, I'm going to integrate them into the main version.
Nemmay 10 Jul, 2019 @ 6:46pm
Don't apologize, I did most of it to myself throughout the years of abusing substances to mask all of my pain, and tweaking my brain's neurochemistry on my own to enhance performance for various things for a short moment of time; however, when you're an addict, you can't stop yourself because you'll never feel as if you've had enough until you're so beat down you want help.

I added you as a friend, me and another developer friend of mine are going to test it; accept the friend request and our inquisitive asses may be able to help narrow down some problems.
Wayback  [author] 8 Jul, 2019 @ 8:36pm
Sorry you had to go through that and I certainly hope you are feeling better now.
Nemmay 8 Jul, 2019 @ 8:01pm
It was crashing when a person joined the game; I have yet to test the new version.

I've been getting my medication sorted out as being put on the wrong med drove me insane over the weekend and I was convinced I was dead and in hell for a bit, demons were after me, bad times.

Needless to say, I noped out of most video games, and TL2 would have triggered me in ways unimaginable. I'm a recovering drug addict with some psych issues as a result, so my medication being messed up can be very dicey for me and off to psychosis land I go.

Seriously, imagine playing this game thinking you're in hell, everyone's a demon, and I had momentary thoughts of just going full doom guy for a bit until I reached out for help lol.

So, I've taken some time to compare with other mods that have dungeons like mine and have re-done a number of setting in an attempt to have them mimic something that seems to work. I've uploaded this as a new mod (can be seen in my workshop); I encourage everyone that has been having trouble with multiplayer and this mod give it a try and let me know how it goes!
Wayback  [author] 6 Jul, 2019 @ 2:45pm
Just reinstalled the toolset, lets see what I can come up with!
Wayback  [author] 6 Jul, 2019 @ 9:55am
As far as I've seen, there isnt somewhere where you set the 'seed' for the randomizer, but I'd think it would be based on who is hosting the game. If there were any way to collect crash logs for why it is failing, it would be a lot easier to zero in on the problem, but I personally have never been able to reproduce it, so I don't know what the root cause is. You could try removing the setting that repopulates levels when re-entering. Its been so many years my memory of all the settings is a little fuzzy.

In your experience, do people crash when joining, when entering the dungeon, or re-entering it after an initial visit? If it is only when using the portals, see if the same crash occurs when using an endless dungeon generated from a map scroll in the mapworks.

Hope that helps a little bit.
Wayback  [author] 6 Jul, 2019 @ 9:55am
The Torchlight 2 Forums had (or still have) a lot of good resources that I used for references. I know at some point it worked multiplayer as is since I saw people uploading mod review videos playing through it with other people.

If you are going to try modding it, you can try removing the portals from the maps since I had created map scrolls to enter it as well, and the actual dungeon itself is in the 'map' section of the modding tools where I put all possible levels as part of the same dungeon and check off options to where the next level is randomly determined; you can see in the normal map files how the linear dungeons are defined.

Nemmay 5 Jul, 2019 @ 3:15pm
I don't know anything about TL2 modding; can you recommend any resources to get me started?

I have experience with other games throughout the years on various platforms.

Anyways, how is the dungeon itself decided? I've noticed that when you climb up and down it resets a the floor you initially came from.

Since it's randomized, is the randomized variable different for each player in MP or did you design it to specifically be for everyone on the server?

I don't know enough about the game to understand what Mapworks is, but why not just remove the portal from Mapworks entirely?
Nemmay 5 Jul, 2019 @ 2:58pm
I don't think there has been.

Does it work in MP without any other mods? I haven't tested this, and I haven't seen anything recent that uses your mod. Anyone know of anything that uses this or something similar that plays friendly with popular mods?
Wayback  [author] 24 Jun, 2019 @ 4:28pm
I wish I knew what the cause of the issue was, but there is a chance that this Mod has been rolled in to other combo mods for multiplayer and someone has figured out how it get it to play nice. I would look around to see if there have been any recent mods that use this one.
Nemmay 23 Jun, 2019 @ 3:07pm
Let me start by saying, I LOVE THIS MOD; but I can't use it in multiplayer.. Is there anyway this can be fixed?

Hey man, I wanted to use this mod inside my mod , is that okay?
Raxz 2 30 Jul, 2018 @ 6:29am
You mentioned a potential conflict with Synergies. I've been making a mod that deals with adding more maps to the Mapworks and it, too, seems to crash in multiplayer when used with Synergies even when it shouldn't be calling anything (i.e., both players are in act 1 estherian enclaves, without the mapworks even unlocked yet.)

I feel like it may be a related issue and my theory is Synergies does some kind of mass edit to dungeons and/or affixes to accomplish some functionality that it has. If so, the fix is probably to do a specialized mod merger wherein all of the conflicting Synergies files are deleted... which would obviously be a lot of effort. Why this isn't simply fixed by putting dungeon mods above Synergies in the load order, I have no idea. Even when you enable all of the log dumping there is Torchlight 2 seems to have some fairly lackluster debugging tools.

Thanks.
Wayback  [author] 3 Jul, 2018 @ 7:51pm
The long and short of it is that the area where you fight the final boss is an alternate version of the Mapworks that technically is the same room but has an invisible switch that flips it to Mapworks mode after the final boss is beaten. For whatever reason, my having the portal in the mapworks overlays with the final boss room, even though I've configured it to only appear when the mapworks appears.

If I recall correctly, I think Bandit (https://steamproxy-script.pipiskins.com/id/bbandit) may have done some tweaking of my mod in one of the combo ones he put out. Might be worth checking one of those that includes Endless Dungeon.

Sadly, I've been out of the the modding game for TL2 for years at this point, so I'd have to re learn everything.

Hopefully this helps at all. Thanks for checking out my mod either way!
peach4hubby69 3 Jul, 2018 @ 8:21am
Hey can you explain my why exactly the the portal bug happens ? I wish there was a way to fix it :(
JOE 3 Jul, 2018 @ 2:41am
No Problem, was bored of the original game anyways and I was almost out of health potions xD
Wayback  [author] 2 Jul, 2018 @ 7:08pm
That is noted in the description of the mod. Was never able to get that to not happen unfortunately, so I'm sorry if your boss battle went haywire due to this.

Disclaimer: Theres a Bug where you can enter the eternal realm WHILE fighting the Netherlord, skipping the fight completely
