Will there be a 1.6 update? I played with this mod in the 1.6 unstable branch and found that pawns will still get wet from rain when using an umbrella in 1.6. Had no other clothing mods at the time. Don't know about sun sensitivity, since I didn't play with any pawns with that. It also throws an error, which I don't have space in this comment to paste all of, but the first part says:
Error while instantiating a mod of type Umbrellas.RimbrellasMod: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> HarmonyLib.HarmonyException: Patching exception in method null ---> System.ArgumentException: Undefined target method for patch method static System.Boolean Umbrellas.RBMindStatePrefix::Prefix(Verse.AI.Pawn_MindState __instance)

Hmm... quite possibly lol. If there are other mods that affect the clothing system, especially how clothes are rendered, it might cause this.

Hi, great mod! I'm guessing that by the lack of comments about this it could be a compatibility issue with another mod, but my pawns are wearing the umbrellas a little oddly [ibb.co]...

Can confirm, doesn't remove the mood debuff from intense UV sensitivity. Don't know about normal UV sensitivity tho

No, not currently. I don't have the DLC so wouldn't be able to test it. Might be a good thing to add in the future, if I can figure out how the DLC's code works without actually having it.

Update on this: So, turns out the 1.5 update totally changed how apparel is rendered. This is breaking the code that makes the foldable umbrellas disappear when not needed. I've updated everything else, but this will take some further work.

TL;DR updated to 1.5 but foldable umbrellas won't disappear for now

Hi, there seems to be a conflict with Nature's Pretty Sweet (sorry I don't know how to link it, but it should come up when searched). Pawns still get wet in rain and snow from the mod. Would you consider making a compatibility patch if you have time?

It would definitely be better, but I'm not sure there's a way to do that. I'll look into it though.

It would be better if an extra slot is added for umbrella, or by other means to make it not to occupy the main slots. In reality, a people can wear a helmet or hat and meanwhile carry an umbrella. If the umbrella take the hat's position, there will be a dilemma when choosing what to equip in head wear slot.

I can look into this, but it may not be fixable since umbrellas have to count as apparel for colonists to be able to equip them.

While I don't run any nudist colonies, I've noticed while checking item info panels that the umbrellas are considered clothing for nudists. Might be an oversight.

@Shampooh Are you still experiencing this issue? I've been trying to reproduce it but haven't been able to. I tested it with the "hide apparel indoors" option enabled -- is that what you meant, or something else?

There appears to be a conflict with the "hide clothing" settings from Dub's Apparel Tweaks that is causing equipment to flicker on a pawn carrying an umbrella, even with what I would expect to be the relevant "hide/show under x circumstances" settings all disabled.

Wow, this fixes it! Thank you!! I've updated the mod so children can use umbrellas, except Steel Umbrellas (I hope you weren't putting your children in a crossfire anyway!)
(also acquired biotech for testing lol)

So a fix could be done by adding it into <apparel>...<developmentalStageFilter>Child, Adult</developmentalStageFilter>... </apparel> or creating a new umbrella only for kids by copying the defs and adding the same thing I said but removing the Adult from it. The game defaults all clothing to adult only

For a apparel to be used by kids and adults it needs to have <developmentalStageFilter>Child, Adult</developmentalStageFilter> in their defs

It's just not registering for kids, I guess. I've tried to force them to equip it and then i tried going in in Character Editor to add it to their gear but nothing happens. Maybe kids don't have the utility slot needed? idk

Are children not able to equip them? Why not?? (Again, don't have the DLC, didn't realize, but I can try to implement this in the future if it doesn't work)

Hey actually, it turns out it wasn't hard to implement at all! The code is still present in the base game although it's not active unless Biotech is installed. Should work now, give it a try and let me know if it works! (Note: for now, foldable umbrellas won't appear as open in the sunlight, but they'll still work. I'll fix the visuals next time I work on the mod, but they're much more complicated than just disabling the mood penalty.)

Ahh ok I understand and it's sad that you don't ge the time to play.
The sanguophage (vanilla) biotech race has a gene that's called mild UV sensitivity that makes them move slower and gives them a negative moodlet. I was thinking that perhaps your parasols could prevent the moodlet? So vampires are still sensitive without umbrellas. This could also mean sacrificing 2h combat in direct sunlight or something (just thinking out loud)

Hm, yeah, especially since I don't have Biotech (I could purchase it but I never really get time to actually play the game these days sadly).

What exactly happens to vampire colonists caught in the sun? Maybe the umbrella could just give a resistance to that effect.

im using the Hemogen gene from biotech, i figure this would be a pretty good check to identify "Vampire" like pawns. but also an option to forcefully enable or disable "Fear of sunlight" might work best and cover all vampire mods.
