Thanks for responding, the last date I got a message, according to my Journal, was May 22, 1940. Actually 2 messages on that date for 'Breaking News' and 'BdU Patrol Report', the last 'BdU HQ Report' was May 19th, 1940 .... It's now March 1941 in game.

if you can look up the last date a message was provided, or an output log.in the bug report form for UBE that would help.

it is possible that the game tasks broke down. Expanded messages uses a long dependency chain of "message 3, depends on message 2 being sent, which depends on message 1 being sent ... etc etc" it is possible one broke, and the following after aren't being sent.

the issue is that you can not track changes in a .xlsx file in github thus sharing/ commiting changes is difficult to do.

Yes, it is definitely possible. I hesitate to do it mainly for the fact that it would be a nightmare for me to maintain.

however, my best consideration to accomplish this would be to provide the base mod without localization data. and then add a sub mod for each locales type for the player to select. While, this should work in practice, i have not yet tried it.

the interim solution, would be for the community to develop a locales patch for their language and overwrite the Expanded Radio locales.xlsx data with the corrections.

If this was done for even one language It would be easy enough for me to remove said language from my mod and redirect those players to the patch mod. this would allow for a much smaller foot print as well as correct the bad API translations I created.

Would it be possible to upload the localisations seperately?
The german translation is just terrible and unreadable.
I already deleted the german part in the data sheets and noticed that it also reduces the filesize a lot...so another point for seperate downloads. :steamthumbsup:

to the first, you can remove the radio message "Welcome to Uboat Expanded" in (sandbox.xlsx / tasks) << I am going to remove this next patch,

to the 2nd, you can change all of the transmission duration to 86400, (in sandbox.xlsx / radio)

both I will resolve in next patch

Hi Link, hope your well. I have 2 issues with the Messages mods that i was hoping you might look into. Every time i start my game i always get a 'Welcome to Messages Expanded' message even though i been using it for a while now and 12 days into a campaign. Could that be disabled or fixed so it only shows once when the mod is first used? Also with regard to the Audio addition, i am on the 12th of September 1939 in the campaign yet i still have all the audio messages for the 3rd there. Do they always stay or should they have vanished by now? Other than that LOVE your mods and thank you so much!:steamhappy:

hmm maybe it's not working for me either, i am not sure, i do get reports of various ships being sunk by uboats, i'm not even sure if that is by this mod or not, but there are no declarations of war. I remember seeing some in the past, but i'm not sure if that was SH5 at this point lol

to keep you updated, a new save didnt change anything but i found the culprit, it was your other addon mod of Expanded radio messages, which killed everything. i unsubscribed that and now it works. Alas i dont get Reports of other uboats lie in vanilla. Are they blocked?

let me know if that resolves. I have not had the time to test my deployments other than "game loads" there are too many mods (20 ish?) I currently am working on updating / fixing with the new patch.
check that a expanded-radio.dat files are created in the appdata - datasheet directory < this was the last issue

Reminder: Newspaper still requires user to unlock via research

This mod is causing the mission list to be completely empty. Just empty green boxes instead of things like "Scalpa Flow" and "Black Pit".

Fresh install and no other mods running. No betas either. Stock game.

If the save was created previous to the patch just a day ago and yes it should be fine the date is already embedded in the save file and what's done is done regardless if it's working or not

Any future campaigns should avoid using this specific mod with the as stated
