Did you remove ships docked on the ship you are trying to dock? Only empty ships can be docked. Also ship should be level using the "o" key for ease of landing.

Shouldn't I be able to dock ships to the top surface? Yes, I have landing gear. I tried turning off shields on both ships too. I don't know. Help appreciated

Jrandall's Apollo module was made especially for the larger rear hangar area. Of course, any of the standard modules would fit there also. Apollo here:

Truly one of the great designs that grace this game. It has inspired a host of designers such that there is a multitude of choice of modules and the carrier itself not to mention space stations. JRandall in creating this ship has produced a masterpiece that will continue to be used in EGS for many future versions. It has a well deserved 5 star rating for this reason.

Actually there are two shutter doors per side. When you are facing the engineering downward thruster, either port or starboard there are two shutter doors left and right of it, that serve no purpose. In their positions should be blocks i.e. carbon type. Hey @jrandall what say you?

The drive thrusters are all airtight. The actual leak might happen if one removes by accident a sliding door that is located under the thruster positioned near the shield and warp drive respectively left and right engineering areas, while you face either port or starboard. These two sliding doors serve no purpose at all if you want my opinion. You can not place a thruster over there. If I have time I will watch the build video of Helios.

@Pyromancer and others sorting out the leak in Engineering. The leak only occurs if you are adding two additional downward Drive Thrusters to the rear of the ship and you choose a non-block (naked) Drive Thruster.

When you are inserting the Drive Thruster, make sure you right click and select "Sloped Drive Thruster" and rotate it to match the angle of the drive bay. The sloped casing fills the gap and makes engineering airtight again.

I've never really taken a liking to the Helios builds but I must say after trying them out I am converted, the work put into all the builds is awesome!!

I do have a question about the first screen shot, in the back ground is a building, what is that and where can I get it??

Checking out design for first time and noticed the rear engineering areas don't have air. Took me a long while to figure out why, there is a leak on the side when you go to an empty room the ramp is next to the engine which leaves a whole you can see out into space.

You got a lot of detail in that area so it's hard to plug the leak without changing a lot in that spot. For a quick fix I put a door at path leading down there and had to remove the top O cover block and the corner shaped block to the side of the door so I could put in airtight blocks.

Since the rooms are mirrored this leak is on both sides.

If it shows orange for you, replace 2 flak turrets of your choosing with minigun ones, that solves the issue. Also, I think like it needs more solar panels - I added more to mine, up to max for both large and small. With all solar panels and without any RTG, with gravity gens working it gets negative usage atm, which is great.

@ShadowFlea. Seems there is a device limitation on the server maybe? Ask the server owner why you can not spawn Helios on it.

Trying to use this ship in RE dedicated server and is showing Orange and won't let me move it to factory. I don't think it's a size issue because the vanilla one is also a size 14 and that one is not orange for me. Anyone narrow down what the cause of this is? Which block(s) I need to remove in creative. Any help is appreciated. Love all the creations of JRandall :)

Thank you very much all. Sorry about my slow response. @jdrafton and Ranogan, I will have to check those out. @DaViSFiT, more or less. There are the small solar panels and large solar panels. Difference is the power and size of them. I like to use the larger ones if possible. You can only mount 24 total solar panels in RE, so you will get more power using the larger ones. I hope that helps. @Invictus_66, I believe there is in the Helios module collect. A couple actually. And thank you all again!

Hey jrandall, great work with this ship. I did a small redesign, cutting it into a 4 bay ship, and centering the bridge. I have issues with OCD lol. I also tried my hand at a combat module, meant to take on bigger ships. No idea if it will work yet as I haven't tested it, but I had fun building it anyway. I haven't done a lot of work texturing the combat module yet, so its kinda bland, I'll get it looking good in the next day or two :) Both are for Reforged Eden. I'd love to know what you think.

Thank uoi Jivaii, -=Ðﮐ=- Arctic Howler, fantomas, Garaman, and Grollwerk! I have just updated the ship replacing all the solar panels with a new RE version and removing all the capacitors as they seem to no longer be a part in RE. The ship no longer should show in red, but I have no idea if the solar panels are working either. In stats I see no solar output nor do the solar panels light up showing that they are working. I guess I have no idea what is going on with this. All I can say is the ship no longer shows up in red for RE. If anyone has info on how solar works in RE now, let me know. And thanks again all!

Until jrandall updates this blueprint you would have to fix it yourself in Reforged Creative Studio or a Reforged Eden creative game. You simply have to delete the 4 capacitors mounted in the rear engineering section and replace the 24 small solar panels on the flight deck with the new "Mobile Solar Panel (small)", then save it as a new BP to spawn in your game (look at it, hit Alt+O, and give it a new name).

@Fantomas I know about the change but didn't see the solar panels in this... sad... if I could modify it via the file itself I'd just fix it, but sadly can't find any format to convert it to readable values to "correct" them for personal use...

I don't see anything in the images to suggest why, but it has forbidden blocks so I would love to see it updated since it visually looks more like a CV I would want, namely more practical than visual design... Hell a chasis version of it would be kind of nice too with like symbols for where you designed certain things to be or something for a lower cost build that can be added to as the player progresses instead of only end game build(or at least minimum requirements to function such as enough thrusters to move it as needed, etc...)

Excellent build. Just a bit too big for me.
I went through a cut it down to where it only carries a single module. Helps keep the Janus going a bit longer before the full MSC can be afforded.

My favorite endgame cv atm. Please keep up the modular designs idea for the future. Is there a way to warp this into a new hostile system without getting instant attacked. I know you park it way out of harm before deploying modules etc, but sometimes you enter instant combat, and this CV dont take much damage. Superb work.

Thank you dew1960 and Daguse! @dew1960, Thanks. It is set up in reforged eden to bring the forward thruster count to 10 XL thrusters which can deal with a lot of weight and still hit warp speed. It of course can depend on how much weight is actually on it, but it can move a lot of weight if upgraded (thrusters, generators, quantum or aux cores). In game we had a ton of modules and docked ships on it, and we could still hit warp speed. Stock, with 4 XL forward thrusters, you may not want to go to super heavy cargo/docked ship counts until more thrust can be added. @Daguse, in the Helios MSC module collection, link at top of post, you should see a few different modules made to dock on the skinny ports. Those would be the best examples I believe. And thanks again all!

I am still very nobish so forgive me if this is a dumb question, but ... I get that this is meant to be a space dock for the Helios modules but I am wondering if fully loaded with modules and cargo, can this ship carry them to other star systems (Warp). I suppose if I move from one system with a station porter to another with a station porter, i could portal back and forth to move each ship separately although I might have to dump some cargo still! LOL

Thank you all! @me777, I do not believe any docked module would benefit from a shield. The AI would not target them. However if the module was meant to leave the ship and do combat or dangerous activities a shield would be recommended. @Adjoint [PAX], someday again I will work on a space station. My issue with them and the game having a large galaxy now is space stations can't move so it tends to tie people down where going far away and back again takes time and lots of pentaxid. But bases/stations can repair CV's and use furnaces where CV's can't. In RE at least there are ways to obtain really long range warps making it easier and cheaper to return to a station or planet base now. And thanks again all!

Amazing ship :) I wish Jran had the same design for a space base :) (no modules) I would fill with 10 furnaces, 8 adv constructors and 1 deco and the 24 base solar panels would support it easily :)
