That would make sense I haven't looked at RTCW in a few years so Steam would of have to of jumped a lot of versions when it updated the mod (and probably the other mods where there were issues) and as a result missed a lot of files it was supposed to remove.

OK cool, glad it's working for you. Strange bug. If the menu picture was different it sound like you still had files from a very old version of the mod.

Okay Resolved it, full uninstall of all mods, the game and a manual delete of remaining files then installed Elite Guard alone.

having played a bit now the in game experience is very different, different enemy models, different enemy placement etc.
I've seen something like this before with another game, my guess is when Steam updated the mod it didn't fully purge out the old files and 2 versions were partially overlapping (explaining why the menu picture looks different now among other things), real testament to your mod that it booted and played at all let alone well enough not to be noticeable till after the fact.

Nope, didn't fix it, unsubscribed from the mod, deleted all the local files and resubscribed, when I went into option under the 'games option' menu only 2 choices are 'Performance' and 'View.'
whereas looking at base realrtcw under game options the 3 choices are 'Gameplay' 'HUD' and 'View', so looks like 'performance' has moved menu and Gameplay and HUD are missing.

checked a few other mods and they've all got the normal options listed same as the base game. I don't think this is a me issue as when I hover the mouse over the 'Game Options' the description at the bottom of the screen says 'check performance, engine and visual settings' I don't think an install error would do that

The issue is on your end. I haven't removed anything from the menu. Try unsubscribing from the mod then go to C:\Users\"username"\Documents\RealRTCW\5.1\ and delete the Elite Guard folder. After that subscribe to the mod again.

@DMK I got round the issue (kinda) by saving a game in base RTCW with more enemies or Even more turned on, then loading the save in the Elite Guard mod, but each time it CTD'd a specifc points in the level for eg on escape1 it CTD's when you reach the base of the stairs after disposing of the doctor, I'm think the option was removed from the mod for a reason at this point

I think you have to select some option menu items such as extra enemies before you start a new game now, after the base game did an update for survival, or possible from before but hadn't noticed.

Not sure why, but when I load the mod the game play options menu for things like extra enemies doesn't appear, it's there on the base game, but once the mod's activated the menu is gone, is this something I've done?

Where does it crash? At the start of the level or somewhere else?

and the game also crashed on the "Chateau" level

I want to report a bug and it's that sometimes when I throw the gas grenade the game freezes and I almost have to restart the PC.

Okay I unsubscribed and resubscribed from Elite Guard again, and it did some checking/reloading of files in steam realRTCW, and I reloaded a former save (still in the bombed out factory area), and played it from there-- and it worked this time! Strange, but at least it worked.

Can't replicate the bug. It loads the next map fine for me.

Thanks Colonel Vanek for this mod! It's incredible when playing it at death incarnate difficulty with "even more enemies" selected. VERY challenging and enjoyable. But now I can't get past the bombed out factory part, right after finding the venom manual. I even unsubscribed, and resubscribed, which caused the steam realRTCW page to show it was slowly updating. But loading my save, when I go to the exit with both objectives completed, it just does nothing. Any fix? Thanks!

I don't think there is a free cam command. You can use noclip and notarget.
Achievements should work.

Is there a free camera + stop time cmd? Or is /noclip the way to go? Also do I have to exit the game completely to reactivate achievements?

Probably my favourite mod on Steam.. look forward to the update! 10/10

(I finished the mod a few days before 5.1 came out so bare this in mind)

i liked the choice in music that's added into the game once you've heard all the tracks from RTCW it gets a bit repetitive but some of the music had me on edge at times and the medal of honor music is so reminiscent.

The spawns for the extra guards feel like really cheap placements to the point where you have to die from them in order to learn how to beat them, it does promote save scumming alot because you lose health so fast from the elite guard which is why in the vanilla game you rarely saw them as they have faster reaction speed, they stagger less and have insane accuracy (they make the male german soldiers be like stormtroopers in comparison)

As much as i like the fact of having plenty of guns to play with it was a shame that i didnt get to use half of them because of either low ammo spawns or half the guns were pea shooters and couldnt stagger any of the enemies.

Why the elite guard mod doesn't work ? I try load any level and the game crashes imediatly.

When you open REALRTCW there should be an option on the menu called Add-Ons and then there should be a list on the right and ELITE GUARD should appear in that list, which you select to launch.

Yes I'm using steam version and I already have the elite guard file, but still dont know how to get it into the game

You just subscribe to the mod and it will appear in the addons menu.

Hey i managed to make it work. Noticed other mods that worked had a .cfg file in them so i tried copying the file to the addon and it worked

its weird.some do others don't with no real reason. Thanks for the help anyway

Try going into C:\Users\"user name"\Documents\RealRTCW\5.0\ and check if there's a folder named 2603371491. That's the folder that stores player settings and saves for Elite Guard mod.
It might've gotten corrupted somehow. Unsubscribe from the mod and delete that folder, then try to subscribe again and see if it works.

I'm still having issues with the add-on crashing on launch. been receiving a inappropriate video settings error when trying to run it. I have not changed any settings in the game. i wiped everything and tried again with update 1.4. Still no luck I've tried pinpointing what is wrong in the console log.

I am having crashing issues with this mod. When i try and launch the add-on the game crashes to desktop. I've tried relaunching the mod the mod to no avail. i have a fresh install of RealRTCW and RTCW. Improbably doing something wrong at my end but any advice would be handy

Well, I have no idea why Steam labeled it with nudity and sexual content. My mod is no more risque than the original game was.
