In Luz's case, if I left her default colors as the colors in the sprites, her eyes would be changed to whatever her shirt color is in the palette. But, by starting at the different color, the eyes are uneffected. This trick also allows me to give her outfits more variation. I can hide long sleeves in a color and set that color to her skin tone on palettes where she doesn't have long sleeves.
also, forward air is busted as shit, and the glyphs need buffs
amazing idea with the glyphs, just needs some work

Also as an Owl House fan I love the little references to the show, from the alts of the characters to her taunt and even her moves, it makes me super happy to see all that here!
Anyways sorry for the long text wall, and sorry for so many suggestions but I'm just not only super ecstatic to finally see Luz in the game but also I really like playing as her! Have a great day and thank you!
Hello! Wanted to give my thoughts on this character if you don't mind since I'm super happy that I finally found this after months of searching lol
First off, I kinda feel that overall she's a little clunky and weird to control sometimes (on the ground she feels very slow compared to some of the main roster fighters, at least to me), but when you're doing combos and stuff it gets a lot better (plus with the help of wavedashing lol). I love using glyphs as a sort of versatility tool, makes a lot of your fights super interesting! Personally I feel like that smash attacks are a bit on the short side (Forward and Down smash in particular), I'm assuming it's to balance out the glyph and aerial stuff but yea feels a bit too short in general.
This is what I’m talking about. You're doing god's work right here.
