I think if it flew around the hat that would add to it a lot. Rotating the Merc and it’s just static looks wrong to me. Other then that great stuff!

Neat reference, but I don't think it's wise to put an exact copy of a character from a Nintendo game about fantastical adventure and legend into a cartoony, M-rated game about cold-blooded mercenaries fighting over gravel pits.
It looks out of place in all the wrong ways.

I've been wanting something similar to the Bat effects for a while. I agree with one of the commenters, add on a trail effect and I think this would be perfect.

I really like the concept, but I think it needs a bit of a trail for aesthetic purposes
