This mod is a savior
So, to fix NPC's being "weaker" with weapons, I can fix that using the "skill 2" command, or put in in autoexec?
The 2x headshot multiplier that is present for the combine in the SDK doesn't seem to apply to Garry's Mod. They take the correct amount of damage based on the value of sk_npc_head.
Should definitely still be careful with increasing that head damage multiplier though, it's just the combine that only take 2x; everything else in the game already takes 3x including custom NPCs.
Fighting combine soldiers for example, a majority of the time their chest is going to be covered by their arms so you'll be either doing 1/4th the damage you should be doing, or doubling it because you hit the head instead.
HL2 doesn't have this issue because it applies 1x damage to limbs. That's what I'm aiming for here.
Some Half-Life 2 NPCs have unique special multipliers per hitgroup however, but generic NPCs already take 3x head and 1/4 limb.
Also, weapon damage scaling depending on difficulty with the "skill" console command still works. Gmod is even defaulted to "easy" (1), which is why gmod in general is a lot "easier" when playing HL2 maps.
