Ah, I understand. I have that issue too. The brain wants to add more but it's exhausting every patience your body has. I do sketch work, and would gladly help with concepts on what ideas you could have as well, so you aren't Hammering without a blueprint.

I'm not so much concerned about the emergence of new ideas, but rather about when these ideas will be implemented at all.

If you ever need ideas, I'm from Maine and Silent Hill took heavy inspiration from Stephen King, so I'd be glad to give input.

Awesome map, however, you should add ways to make it into building rooftops without noclipping. I was playing with SIlent Hill 2 Remake enemies using a map spawner, and some monsters took me forever to find them. Turns out, they were chilling on some rooftops.

Some content is missing or loaded incorrectly. You can try to reload the map, maybe the error will disappear. Otherwise, addons may be to blame.

This map seems to have an issue for me where massive parts of it are covered in large black cubes that say ERROR on them. I have no idea what's up with it. Could it just be an addon conflict? I don't have much installed

Apparently one of my addons was eating up my FPS, still runs SLIGHTLY slower than normal maps though, not by much though (was at 15 FPS AVG before but now around 130)

I don't know, but since this addon is most likely responsible for lighting, it's not responsible for the fog itself.
In GMod itself, you can change the fog settings using a special entity, but it doesn't save the settings if it is deleted (for example, when changing the map to another map).
You can look at the fog settings on other maps, then, if the fog is also changed there, then a certain addon will be to blame

The buildings you see in the distance are called the 3D skybox, it never disappears. But the buildings that disappear after a certain distance are the map itself.
The reason they disappear at a distance is called visibility optimization, and, in theory, the fog on the map itself should hide such a cutoff in visibility.
Most likely, your fog settings are changed.

for some reason my map has a really weird draw limit where things just stop appearing after some distance though buildings FAR in the distance I can still see

i love this map but for me it would be even better if there was a version without the fog that has normal weather, i know this map is supposed to resemble silent hill and doing that would ruin the concept but a fogless version would be appreciated

I have that off, plus that's a GPU intensive setting (I am pretty sure) and my GPU is definitely not the problem (lowering graphics doesn't make it better, plus I have a decently beefy card)

I can't get this map over 30 fps WITH all props removed, not optimized at all (yet the map appears in chunks [which just looks bad and doesn't actually increase performance])
