Perhaps it is worth doing not an animation, but swapping the model and trigger in the animation that is. Subjectively and without "slow-mo", it may look like the right animation, it seems to me, since the "cartridge case" feels like it flies above the "machine gun belt". (There may be errors in the construction of the message, but I hope the meaning is clear)

For research, i usually go with youtube videos of the guns, manuals if i can read them (mostly the American ones), wikipedia, and sometimes books i have about guns.
The American manuals for WW2 and Cold War guns are available online if you look them up, sometimes it's the updated 80's version instead of the originals, but you can find them.

@mella, where do you get your research because your mods are very cool and I want to read more about the history of the weapons. Also are going to make a galil
