been trying to get this to work for an hour, still wont work, followed installation tutorial. but every time i try to load a scenario game loads up and instantly closes.

sea lifter is busted its not this mod causing crashes custom models dont work until sea lifters fixed

It seems this mod or Sea Lifter is the cause of crashes for me lately since there's already so many updates to the game yet none for this and for the sea lifter mod so far.

@AvAve I did everything according to the instructions. two third-party people checked if everything was correct. but the mod doesn't work. is there a topic with "known problems" anywhere?

Im not seeing the files from the instuctions linked. Do you download the AnchorChain-main folder? Im not sure what im doing wrong.

I was having the issue of it not appearing. I reinstalled anchorchain (apparently it somehow uninstalled itself?) and it worked just fine then. And I mean go to the github and reinstall, don't just subscribe to the anchor chain mod.

so followed the instructions, subbed the anchorchain mod, and did the file drop for ACpreloader and then ran the game, but i got 2 mods in the ingame list, anchor chain and another ACConfigs, is this normal?

@Uniform61 - This would be something with SeaLifter if you're using that, AnchorChain only loads mods, it doesn't affect gameplay itself

Hey, anyone got any ideas - I am trying to create a F-35 Mod. Everything is working fine but when the model comes in to the game, it leaves a pure white version of the aircraft floating nearby to the carrier that it is spawned on.

I know others had this kind of issue back in January. Is this an Anchor Chain issue with my mod or something else?

Hi, I’ve encountered a bug while using mods that needs anchor chain to operate, which seems to be related to the Unity engine. Specifically, the game is unable to load certain resources from the Workshop folder, and I’m consistently seeing the following error message in the logs:
NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

To troubleshoot the issue, I’ve tried reinstalling the game multiple times and have also subscribed/unsubscribed to the affected mods several times. Despite this, the issue persists. I’ve also reached out to the mod developer, and they confirmed that they are not experiencing the same issue on their end. The issue seems related to sealifter and anchor chain because the mod uses external/non-game models. My game is currently at the latest stable version. Many thanks

if you're running proton/wine/linux and you properly installed sealifter, anchorchain and the Anchorchain preloader you also need to follow these instructions:

@Flakyhtf - If you can, please submit your Debug.log on a github issue; the github is linked above. That will help me hunt down any bugs.

@Flakyhtf - I'm a bit dubious that this mod in particular would cause a freeze on mission load, but I'll take a look. In the mean time, I'd look at whatever has this mod as a dependency, as those are much more likely to break on an update. In particular, I know some large changes were coming to SeaLifter (although you'd have to check out its page for more info).

@kalkocz - If you're sure that it's not SeaLifter or a similar mod that's not working, I would make sure that AnchorChain is actually being loaded. To do this, make sure that the BepInEx log (in your Sea Power\BepInEx folder) is recent and that it logs Anchor Chain as having started.

@t.z.a.n, @Toby - It's probably what steem said. This program is very update resistant, I would always look to the specific plugin first before asking here. If you have, please create a github issue with your player.log files so that I can troubleshoot.

The documentation is simple and clear, you need wait for Sealifter update for workng custom models in beta.

Anyone got a method for importing new models that they have built themselves? I have tried to get Sketchfab models into Sea Power like the Naval Strike Missile, copying the exact same files and configuration as other mods and the model is always invisible in the game. I have tried resizing it larger and smaller - no result.

@Project 9000 - The link is no longer there because we now distribute BepInEx in our release zip file as stated in the guide. Please follow the instructions here [seapower-modders.github.io]; you should not need to do anything else.

@AvAve the install guide updated on the 24th and there was no more instruction for BepInEx, so I went to the actual GitHub site for BepInEx 5.3.23.x and it's only for windows 7, 8 and 10 and I'm on windows 11

@kingcool - That seems more like a SeaLifter problem to me, if you can submit an issue on github with your Player.log, I can take a look to see what the problem might be.

@Project 9000 - I haven't been in direct communication with Stealth17 about the video install guide, but the recent update has greatly simplified the installation steps. If you can't figure it out from the video, check our documentation on how to install the preloader.

I tried it again with a clean install, and I'm getting the LogOutput.log confirming that BepInEx is installed and working. However, with the Sealifter and AnchorChain Workshop subscriptions, the game stops at 'Loading aircraft Meta for cic_707 ...'.
