Karen, that’s not how copyright law works. You don’t need to add flashy fictional stuff for your 3D models to be protected—original geometry, textures, and even lighting setups you create are automatically copyrighted the moment you make them. If someone rips my actual files—even if it's “just the layout” I recreated from scratch—they’re stealing my work, not just copying a real building. I’ve already had takedowns approved for that exact reason lmao. You don't know shit and you seem to be having a problem with me owning my stuff and it just makes me laugh.

first of all - the mall used to exist in real life, in Dallas, Texas - kanepixels uses this mall and the giant in his series, so I'm not stealing anyone's work - I'm recreating a real place. Second of all, don't teach me about legal stuff regarding the ownership of assets that I have created. I've filed a DMCA against someone who reuploaded my model of the rolling giant 2 times already and with me proving the ownership of these models, they have been taken down for the reuploaders. Do you have anything more to say in this matter?

you legally own nothing in this map as its a recreation of someone else's original series and the creator of the series owns everything they made which this map just takes and puts to gmod you legally could not dmca anyone

well that's kinda flawed you do not own the ip of anything featured in the series and filing a dmca then would actually be a false strike

I also exported the map to blender before anyone else and published it on my official cgtrader so now I'm a legal owner of all the non-valve assets featured in the map.

it's my own recreation though so I can basically license my assets and issue a DMCA later on

This map in particular will probably never be continued on again, due to poor treatment of the creator and, most of all, due to Source limitations. And just like @JJ mentioned below, this map can still be saved if passed onto another creator who can replicate such a map.

the rest of the mall wont be made, at this point i think this map should be passed down to a different creator or someone who can continue it, there's demand and there's workshop creators who'd be able to match the style

You know this is merely a recreation of Kane Pixel’s ‘The Oldest View’ version right? It’s not supposed to be a proper rendition of the real mall, although it could be, it is just a map based off a famous YouTube series.

You call it accurate yet you have the rooftop exit, blocked of exits and worst of all.. NO AMC!
