i made this asset 2 years ago. i am no longer making assets for skylines and do not offer support for any of my assets anymore which is why i advise to deactivate my mods or use at your own risk :)

Finally someone who made it! Would you ever put some vessels/men of war in the future? It would be awesome!
Big Bad Nonja 13 Nov, 2015 @ 2:32am
There's a new "no water check" mod aout that will allow things to placed in/underwater.
e_m_cleoold 3 Oct, 2015 @ 10:04pm
is flooding!
alienvisitor 4 Sep, 2015 @ 7:53pm
One under sail would be great, and one as a shipwreck so you could do a castaway island.
MrMiyagi 1 Sep, 2015 @ 10:57am
Hi Swiss. I love this ship more than you could know. There is a problem, though. It constantly says it's flooding. But anyway, is there a way to convince you to make more tall ship parks??? Pretty please? :)

Beautiful !!!!!!! Great job Swiss !
OI MATE SWISS  [author] 21 Jul, 2015 @ 3:57am
possible yes, but i don't really see the use for it. It is also a bit on the large size (polygons whise)
to be good for a vehicle
Elessar 21 Jul, 2015 @ 3:50am
This is really nice, is it possible to have a vehicle version of this asset?

Leo Mystic Magic 8 May, 2015 @ 8:32am
Oh yea you could do that just fine.
OI MATE SWISS  [author] 8 May, 2015 @ 8:31am
thanks unfortunatly i am not into coding but i might use one of your ships as a base to import mine if thats possible.
Leo Mystic Magic 8 May, 2015 @ 8:22am
Hey Swiss, I found a way to make an asset go into the Ships tab. Check out my tutorial here if you want to update your ship... http://community.simtropolis.com/topic/67699-tutorial-how-to-change-an-assets-category-tab-while-still-retaining-service-info-of-another-category/

you'r welcome i enjoyed the movie master and commander very much but some scenes were too long and boring
Hydra 7 May, 2015 @ 9:54pm
Loving the mod, my father was the one reponsible for building the ship HMS Rose in 1970 for the Bicentennial celebration that was eventually used for the HMS Suprise in Master and Commander. She was a recreation of the HMS Rose that successfully ended Rhode Island's rum smuggeling trade in the 1760's. So thanks for this! :D

Thanks for the help Swiss, I finally got it working... I forgot that I had always been using the check circle "Bottom Center Pivot" in the asset editor to reorient my object. I had to rotate my pivot axis and not select that option this time around for it to work properly. Thanks for the help! :)
OI MATE SWISS  [author] 4 May, 2015 @ 10:28am
@grapplehoeker
i am sorry i can't fix your problem.
@Shroomblaze
I can't elaberate more i tried my best to help but i have no knollage of 3ds max maybe thigs there are different.
Leo Mystic Magic 4 May, 2015 @ 10:18am
I'm still trying to figure it out grapplehoeker. Once I do I will update the models.
grapplehoeker 4 May, 2015 @ 9:58am
"My ship never hasa icon that it is fluded. even thogh part of it is underwater"
When I sink it, it has a flooded icon ;)

Leo Mystic Magic 4 May, 2015 @ 8:05am
hmm, I just set the pivot to 2 different heights in 3dsmax and I even tried putting the model below the axis. Care to elaborate more on what I need to do?
OI MATE SWISS  [author] 4 May, 2015 @ 7:46am
well the pivot of the object need to be there where you want the waterlevel to be.
Leo Mystic Magic 4 May, 2015 @ 7:33am
How do you do that Swiss? I just noticed it on your model, I used your ship as a template but I guess I didn't change a setting or something.
OI MATE SWISS  [author] 4 May, 2015 @ 7:27am
you can lower the model into the water. But the texture will disapear on that pat. also it depends what sort of park asset you use. My ship never hasa icon that it is fluded. even thogh part of it is underwater
Leo Mystic Magic 4 May, 2015 @ 7:03am
Also grapplehoeker, you can't lower the plane of the model in the 3D program to push it below the water line. The asset editor automatically raises the model to axis 0.
Leo Mystic Magic 4 May, 2015 @ 7:00am
Hey grapplehoeker. My models has to sit on top of the water. That's how it works, otherwise if you lower it into the water it becomes flooded with an icon. I'm using the same method as Swiss and it's good enough for me. Yes it's slightly above the water but the water around it gives it the illusion that it's in the water... This is also why I cut the boats in half to look like part of it is in the water. If you are having trouble with the concrete base let me know, because I made precautions to get rid of them on every model I did and for me that are not showing up.
OI MATE SWISS  [author] 4 May, 2015 @ 4:37am
wrong my model is lowered into the ground as you can clerly see by the texture missing on the bottom. also yu can see it easily if you place it on land because thebottom will not show. so please look before you jugde. thanks
grapplehoeker 4 May, 2015 @ 12:44am
I love all the new water assets you guys are making recently.
I have one problem though. You're all making the model free standing, which means when you plop it, the model sits on top of the water and not in it. You need to lower the model into the ground plane of the modelling program you use so that when plopped, you won't see the base of the model.
Leo Mystic Magic 3 May, 2015 @ 12:39pm
Hey Swiss, Thanks for the advice on how to get rid of the concrete block.. I just uploaded the ship, and I also reduced the Lod Tri count by half. Check it out... http://steamproxy-script.pipiskins.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=436874500
Leo Mystic Magic 3 May, 2015 @ 9:18am
Yea I know, but It's a free model so its harder to edit and the default lod was bad. It's gonna be a big ship though.
OI MATE SWISS  [author] 3 May, 2015 @ 9:16am
6 k for the lod is quite high but it depends on the ship
Leo Mystic Magic 3 May, 2015 @ 9:12am
Ok, That's not too bad.. I know ships are more intense. The ship I'm gonna upload is a free model I found online and it had like 27,000 Tris and I reduced that to like 20k, and made the lod 6k.
OI MATE SWISS  [author] 3 May, 2015 @ 9:10am
this is a ship not a building with 4 sides no naturaly you can't compare it to a normal building. But it is also not a growable and will only once in your city (probably) so the question is asked to the wrong adress. But i tell you anyway. The Basic Model has 33250 Tris and the LOD has 2460 tris.
Leo Mystic Magic 3 May, 2015 @ 6:56am
I have a question for you, how many Tri's is your ship, and how many Tri's for the Lod?
Leo Mystic Magic 3 May, 2015 @ 5:20am
YAY! It worked, I didn't need to set it to a 1x1 either fyi. Worked just fine setting an area size for future reference. Thanks for the help :)
OI MATE SWISS  [author] 3 May, 2015 @ 5:20am
spanish galleon not so much a netherland skipper or fleute might happen. But i think people probably want more modern ships and boats to make a seaport or something. They are simpler to do and probably more people would aprechiated them so i probably try a Yat or something next
ifatson 3 May, 2015 @ 5:11am
This is so cool! How about a Spainish Galleon? or a Netherlands ship?
OI MATE SWISS  [author] 3 May, 2015 @ 4:57am
i also had the issue first but then i removed the faces on the very bottom ot the ship (not visable anyway) and made the size of the building only 1 by 1 even thogh my object is larger.
Hope i helped
Leo Mystic Magic 3 May, 2015 @ 4:52am
Cool ship, I subscribed... I'm wondering though, how did you remove the concrete base from the bottom of it? I'm trying to import a ship as well but I keep getting a concrete wall that goes to the bottom of water. I set the placement mode to onsurface setting 04. Did you do something specific to remove that base?
RoughedUp 3 May, 2015 @ 4:18am
Whoa dude awesome job. Can't believe all the good things people keep coming up with.
