Report a translation problem
I've done it without using the laser too.
First of all, it's possible to jump from the spot where you find the cube to the other side of the glass panel. It's pretty easy too. You should expand the panel a bit. It's a slight cosmetic harm, though.
And as I'm apparently obsessed with doing things the hard way, I walked on the light bridge to the other side, approached the turret while holding the cube and crouching to avoid bullets and knocked the turret over. A tiny problem. The laser method is much simpler.
And then there's the size thing which Wuggy already pointed out. Not a big problem either. Maybe you could add some white surfaces to places where they do not affect the puzzle at all. They'll make it look better anyway; it's good to have a nice balance of white and black.
