Plans for 1.6 ?
Penultimate_Jive  [author] 6 Apr @ 8:07pm
shimizu01, Probably. If you have any problems; let me know. I'd be happy to make a patch. :SBpenguin::balloon:
shimizu01 6 Apr @ 3:55am
is it compatible with Vanilla Cooking Expanded?
Penultimate_Jive  [author] 10 May, 2024 @ 6:21pm
Aria, The tofu press will produce soy milk when making tofu.
Penultimate_Jive  [author] 10 May, 2024 @ 6:19pm
PsychicDamage, I was unable to disable tofu as a vegetable without disabling it entirely.

To manually change the values for growth time, or crop yield; the mod contents on your PC are located at "Steam:\steamapps\workshop\content\workshop\294100\932373937"
Edited values of workshop content will be reset on updates. A patch is the only way to avoid this.

I have made a guide on how to make a patch with an example for you to download: https://steamproxy-script.pipiskins.com/workshop/filedetails/discussion/932373937/4354495356173577526/

where do u make the milk
Penultimate_Jive  [author] 7 May, 2024 @ 2:54am
PsychicDamage, I think I can set tofu to disabled by default as a vegetable in recipes.

For the growth times, I did balance the rates so it grows faster than the other crops, but needs more plants to sustain colonists. I'll look into adding some way to customise it.
PsychicDamage 1 May, 2024 @ 7:13pm
I know it's not a "bug" per say
Lavish/Fine meals made with Tofu count as vegetarian which is great!
Pawns automatically use Tofu as a protein which is great!
But they also use Tofu as a vegetable which means they're making "meals" that are nothing but tofu and it's very strange. Without a way to manually set ingredient portions this feels a bit silly.

Also is there any way for me to edit how long the soybeans take to grow on my end? They grow so quickly that they feel a bit cheatsy. Since my entire reason for growing them is to replace meat for ideologies that don't like killing animals, I'd like them to be challenging to grow.
Penultimate_Jive  [author] 15 Nov, 2022 @ 1:43am
void_mail_669, Oops, sorted Tofu out just then however, milk can already be used as the only ingredient in a meal; it's not because of something I've done. :sans:
void_mail_669 9 Nov, 2022 @ 7:59am
and soy milk is defined as a universal ingredient. It can be used to make a fancy meals even without other ingredients.
void_mail_669 9 Nov, 2022 @ 7:43am
Pawns can not cook a combined dish. The recipe does not consider tofu as an ingredient.
zyzz 3 Sep, 2021 @ 11:20pm
Yes with ideology you can have vegetarian colonies or colonies where they only eat meat. Thanks for answering!
Penultimate_Jive  [author] 3 Sep, 2021 @ 12:55am
zyzz, Are there vegetarian colonists in the game now?
I would assume they would see it as meat.
zyzz 2 Sep, 2021 @ 10:42pm
If I feed tofu to a vegetarian colonist will they be angry about eating "meat"?

Posh Octavia, Actually never mind, my maths was right all along. Soybeans have a low nutrition value, which is why you get so many.

The reason I made the plants grow quick, and give you so much is to make it more difficult to deal with.

If you were wondering, you need 22 soy plants per colonist.
Penultimate_Jive  [author] 11 Jul, 2021 @ 11:09pm
Posh Octavia, I think I made a mistake at some point. I just checked, and it turns out you'd only need 6 soy plants per colonist, versus the 20 rice plants you'd need. Definitely fixing that now.
Posh Octavia 11 Jul, 2021 @ 4:22pm
so, bit of a balance issue, this takes two thirds the time of rice to grow, yields three times as much as rice, as much as haygrass and can also be turned into a meat substitute? these are pretty much objectively the best crop to ever grow as is

GuyDing22, soy milk is a byproduct of tofu production. You can't really have one without the other.
GuyDing22 15 Jul, 2020 @ 7:46pm
I have my tofu press set to make tofu but for some reason I have a ton of soy milk now and I don't see a bill to make soy milk. Am I missing something?
Penultimate_Jive  [author] 8 Jul, 2020 @ 1:02am
Ralaigon7, It is compatible with 1.0. I'm not sure why it isn't saying that.
Ralaigon 7 Jul, 2020 @ 12:47pm
Is this still compatible with 1.0, or will there be a seperate version. most mods have it split somehow for both versions in one post as the guide of the dev said, but this one is marked in red
Penultimate_Jive  [author] 11 May, 2020 @ 12:13am

Penultimate_Jive  [author] 21 Mar, 2020 @ 8:50am
I feel, some people aren't going to like the latest update for this, but I think this sets a reasonable challenge considering what the mod does.
Penultimate_Jive  [author] 21 Mar, 2020 @ 6:19am
MoonchildBrody, just in general; any mod that does not explicitly say "requires a new save" can most likely be added without issue. :bcportalhi:

To answer your question, yes it should work fine, and soybeans can be grown on hydroponic beds :cozybethesda:
MoonchildBrody 20 Mar, 2020 @ 11:03am
Can this mod be added to a current game? Also, can I grow the soybeans in a hydroponic? I'm using the Save Our Ship 2 mod, and I don't have any soil.
Penultimate_Jive  [author] 13 Mar, 2020 @ 6:22am
Paladin, I like the idea of tofu and soy milk not being used as a vegetarian product. I'm not too sure about fixed crafting amounts.

I might mess around with the nutrition and yield values another day. :SBpenguin::balloon:
Paladin 12 Mar, 2020 @ 11:28pm
Thank you for this great mod. It is great that mod takes the niche below rice in terms of growth rate. May I give some ideas? Maybe reduce the nutritional value and increase yield of soy beans, then leave only one recipe for cooked beans (maybe only 37 or 5 or 16 or smth else). Also tofu is counted as vegetarian. Maybe think about using raw or cooked beans as vegetarian, tofu as meat and soya milk counted as normal milk. For now I see no reason for soya milk in game. That also maybe OP in terms you can cook lavish meals with just - cooked beans + tofu + soya milk, idk. Should be balanced some way.

note the "either way" because you've been slinging insults and beratement, alongside the DMCA, your "right" to protect free items that do squat, I wouldn't care even in a normal state about your opinion because you have a clown picture. I'm conservative, connect the fucking dots clown.
Penultimate_Jive  [author] 1 Mar, 2020 @ 11:21am
Midnight, and what? Are cats known for being respectful and intelligent? Are you trying to tell me that, you infringed on my rights because I have a clown as my profile picture?
Mitz 1 Mar, 2020 @ 8:09am
either way, I can't take you like a normal human being with the clown face, a symbol of insanity, stupidity, and mentally ill.
Penultimate_Jive  [author] 1 Mar, 2020 @ 12:29am
CrazyDoc_SW, Alright. You've forced my hand, and I concede. I added a 37 bulk bill for the beans :SBpenguin::balloon:
CrazyDoc_SW 29 Feb, 2020 @ 8:50pm
Comparing the time spent actually working on the cooking bill, and the time spent moving the ingredients into place, the choice of bulk crafting would save quite a bit of time in the long run, even considering the higher time requirement for cooking a larger portion.
Penultimate_Jive  [author] 29 Feb, 2020 @ 7:30pm
CrazyDoc_SW, That was this mod but I changed some things. I can add it back if you'd like but I didn't think it was entirely necessary.:KSmiley:

Midnight, video games are listed as an art. Art is protected by copyright. I have never claimed that my work is public property and you don't need license for copyright, however you need a license or permission from the copyright holder to use copyright material, which you do not have .

TT5, well gosh damn general Sam. Me done the big oopsie. The mega thermal kinetic press should be all functional now mah boi :bcportalhi:
CrazyDoc_SW 29 Feb, 2020 @ 3:42pm
I seem to remember there being bulk cooking options, such as pressing stacks of soybeans into tofu. Am I thinking of a different mod, did that get removed, or do I need to go poking around my mod list to find a conflict?
