An update on what's happening with B7
B7 is coming on slowly, mainly because I have other motivations and more urgent things that need my attention than updating TFC. It is on its way, and you can keep track of progress via the Trello page (see Trello discussion).
The update's at a point where it's either I could release it soon and it'd have pretty much nothing new, or I can wait longer and have it be a substantial update. Currently a few friends of mine (Scobalula, raptroes and MotoLegacy) are working on some awesome new content for the mod, and understandably that takes them time, but when they've finished the mod is gonna get a whole lot more interesting.
To elaborate on the last paragraph, the main point of difference is going to be the Mutators system. The GSC-based before round 1 mutator menu is effectively decommissioned and obsolete, it is being replaced with a LUA-based mutator menu that you set up in the game lobby. This is what MotoLegacy is currently working on, and it's looking excellent. Gone are the hacky methods to achieve specific mutator options and the doors are opened to more customizability and general ease of use. This is the main point of new content, you'll have to find out later what Scobalula and raptroes are working on ;)
I look forward to releasing the update in the near-future. :)
Its only for the next few after. I had PHD so I used the slide to kill to promote
Anyway, appreciate the report (and the actual use of the correct channel for issue reports), I'll put it on the Trello
Edit; additionally I've observed that there may be interference with the MG-81 specifically in Luck of the Irish and TFC, was this also the case for you?
I do read rules. Haha, and yeah I demoted myself a few times to try and jump past the "issue" weapon but even then it's always just disappears.
Ill try to reiterate, when I slid using PHD Flopper I was able to promote a few guns ahead then a finally got a weapon, it skipped over a few. I'm not quite sure exactly which gun that was.
However, as you mentioned with the MG-81 power-up also sometimes fixed the issue
With the coming mutator overhaul in B8 there is going to be substantial change. First I want to detail on what is going to happen with (Ultimate) Gun Game, then I'll explain as well some of the more interesting general-level mutators that will be seen in the update. For simplicity's sake, assume from now that mention of "Adler" means the overhauled mutator menu.
Gun Game overhaul
With Adler, the doors are open to so much more variety in options - and therefore I saw it necessary to change what we have currently with Gun Game, to reduce its narrow gameplay and make it wholly more modular. Assume from B8 that the Ultimate Gun Game is scrapped, as its features will be integrated as options into Gun Game-specific settings; do note however that recommended presets will include such things as an U.G.G.-like experience, etc. To detail more on this;
- The Blitzkrieg Bonuses will be revamped to be more polished, and then added as a setting
- Weapon Selection on Gun Game will become a modular option; you could pick normal guns, PaP guns, both, include specific gun sets (i.e. the map's original, Black Ops III's, TFC (always)) to add and remove guns to the total count
- There may end up being more than stated above at release, I don't know.
Here alone is dedicated to Gun Game, there's other things though on the general level that you may like to use in Gun Game, such as disabling certain powerups, perks etc.
General new mutators
As I said previously, the doors are wide open for customisation with Adler, being able to apply settings pre-game allows us to do a lot more. Here's some examples of new options:
- Enable/disable specific perks. If you don't like Stopping Power or Jugg, and do like Speed Cola, well you can switch them on/off individually at will. There'll also be preset options here if you for example just want it to set to Stock, or everything, or TFC perks only, etc.
- Likewise with powerups - if say you want to play Gun Game without the nuke, you can switch it off - or if you want to enable custom powerups included in the mod, here's the place. Once again there'll be presets available.
- Magic on/off - this will actually work unlike B6's magic toggle
- And likely so much more
Anyway
Adler overhaul is a substantial change coming in version B8, but it's not the only change coming. We've got new perks, new powerups, more guns, and even more major changes that I won't state all on the way. With all said and done however, please do note that my schedule is getting busier, so do not expect a release date for B8.
All in all this mod is dummy good, definitely my favorite mod in any game. Thanks for all your hard work!
