Oh man yeah, the hornets. They're definitely on the tougher side- an insane difficulty spike. Initially, they were a secret encounter, but I didn't see anyone exploring very much early on so I integrated it into the main progression, for better or worse.
Takes skill to beat that's for sure- it even puts me to the grindstone.
The invisible kankrelats are intentional, no worries, but thanks for bringing it up in case. That's a stress-inducing encounter trying to remember their positions from their shots to navigate through for the life slot (or via their movement sound by purchasing an Invisibility from the tower).
Thanks for sharing !
The Kankrelats in level 4 (after the yellow door) are also invisible, for some reason.
I do have some issues with the map such as lack of considerable checkpoints (mainly after getting the yellow key, it's so mildly inconvenient to get to the hornets and die)
I would love to see what you have to offer in the future.
I could see myself coming back to this as a standalone game with proper licensing at some point in the future. That'd be lit !
Absolutely enjoyed your playthrough. Love seeing those !
I hope to eventually finish it as well someday (definitely not opposed to it- may also do a Sector 5 zombie map using some unused stuff in the meantime). Not explicitly hard, just time-consuming looking for ways to solve interesting problems !
The Expedition demo now supports coop, cutscene animations were overhauled w/ lipsync too, & some levels were modified to incorporate most of the secret abilities such as Second Sight & Code Grant.

I'm still unsure as to whether I'm aiming to finish a full version (e.g. full story, all five sectors) in the mod tools or a standalone engine, if at all. The tools are incredibly comfortable top lel, but I've poked around some engines & there are some contenders.
I could be an 80 y/o senile man and still watch this show for sure.
I encourage you to 100% it lmao- I don't know if anybody has yet.
Beware that the RNG of Code Grant can get annoying when attempting the timed button at the beginning of level 2 xD I kept rolling Invisibility when I needed Speed Boosts.
i'll definitely will b playing this map often
thanks soo much for making the map as I'm a huge fan of Code Lyoko and recently finished rewatching Code Lyoko and was looking for all the games i could find linking towards Code Lyoko
keep up the good work
Nao Tomori ^^
That being said, I'm still exploring engines for something I can get used to & enjoy, but I actually may just finish Expedition as a mod just like the demo should I end up redesigning the core systems with the optimizations in mind that would make it possible simply because CoD is just nice to work with at this point, relatively speaking.
Thank you for your kind words ohoho. Great to know you enjoyed it- always inspiring to hear !
That being said, Fish_ninja_64's message did indeed spark another poke- significantly, one without considerable blockages thus far, so I thank him for that. There will still be a learning curve, but it's looking up.
As for likenesses & the IP itself, I'm not too concerned if I respect the publisher's rights I'm sure- if they need me to stop, as before, that is something I'd abide.
Nice work on your bachelor's ! Top tier stuff my guy - that's awesome ! Yeah, I'll absolutely consider you if I need anything- I appreciate it. Thanks for your input, as well as your offer.
jumping engines if you wanted to do a standalone isn't as difficult as you think. Ya you would basically have to work from the ground-up again however you already have most of the assets at your disposal with the design you got going on. Just would need the programming side of it. Not to mention would need to have permission from the creators in order to use their likeness. Which shouldn't be hard to reach out and get the written consent saying yes you can. If you wanted to do a standalone and wanted to contract out work for the design my inbox is always open. Just finished my bachelors in Game Development and I am currently working on my Master's right now actually. So any side work I can achieve helps everything.
In terms of time, I was already proficient enough in BO3's workflows to poke at the idea, even ones I got used to that only apply to this particular mod, which then strengthened my confidence in BO3's functionality. Whilst I'm thankful for my understanding of GSC and do enjoy it, that does not exactly transfer.
In terms of money, the response to the demo hasn't convinced me to spend more on this project at this time (would should only be required by jumping engines, vo aside).
I have still explored the options of either partnering or contracting out programming work to know that those routes are available to me.
The only force more foundational than time or money in this case is motivation, so thank you for your comment, lad.
As for Franz yelling at Aelita, ohohoho- The vision there was to convey the absolute weight of risk, in that Aelita could very well have been killed. In my mind, everything hit the fan when the men in black showed up despite having never done so in previous iterations of June 6th, then all of a sudden Franz & Aelita were on Lyoko under XANA's rule, who'd grown nearly unchecked, so there's a modicum of stress there.
Polish subtitles... I'm not immediately opposed to taking you up on that. My biggest concern would be the value of your time spent translating, given the relatively low reach of this demo (let alone, full project). I'll keep this in mind, friend. Thanks !
Feel free to reach out should you ever feel like adding Polish subtitles, i can provide the translations.
