The "surprise" counter attack was originally supposed to happen all at the same time (to put as much pressure on the player team as possible); however, due to performance constraints they had to be spread out between each other. I do get where you are coming from though.

The 4th "and then, somehow, palpatine returned" was at a point that had my friend group rolling our eyes and just wanting it to be over.

Difficulty is fine, long missions are fine, but having several bait and switches on it actually ending is just frustrating and making it feel like a waste of time.

The mission was otherwise pretty fun and an enjoyable level of difficulty but good lord.

Pushed some QOL changes, moving enemy spawns much further towards borders (since most were placed before the extended borders were implemented). Changed units around, etc.

Hey, no problem! Total Escalation does not have the docks as an airbase? Do you mean a different base or are we talking about a different mission?

Sorry for another post, but friends with Tiberiumkyle below, and he forgot to mention the docks takeoff also has a lot of AI issues. They tend to just go the wrong way, or taxi into the water perpendicular to the direction it's meant to go. The strip seems to be the right direction in the case of the HUD when going to land as a player though.

Thanks for your feedback! It seems the AI takeoff behaviour must have changed since the last update and I did not notice. I've corrected the airstrip, so AI should be less likely to crash inside the tunnel on takeoff.

The AI has been pretty consistent about bonking the Agropol tunnel ceiling on takeoff, crashing themselves just outside the north side of it. Players can still get out, though some debris may claim a landing gear. Have also had a couple instances of Shards beaching themselves and just never sinking, requiring total destruction to remove it from the fight.

This has been updated to 0.30. Some of the underlying objectives around landings will remain simply due to complexity of replacing them. All of the new units are included with the exception of the hovercrafts.

This is my favorite mission I have played so far, having to fight against an overwhelming force with friends is a lot of fun, really feels like you are against the odds here.

Great map, playing it right now with a full lobby.

However the lag for the host specifically, especially on a high pop lobby, is REALLY bad, to the point where whoever is running the server can't participate. I don't think that's your doing rather its more to do with the games optimization, but worth pointing it out.

Just spent ~5 hours tackling this mission with a friend and I would definitely recommend having more than two people (maybe four or five?) to complete this in a reasonable time frame lol. Overall, a fun experience but it got kind of tedious, especially with only two people.

Next update I'm going to focus on improving performance in the late game. Planning on delaying the spawn of the North BDF base until after the incursion is dealt with, as it is the most performance intensive portion of the mission.

It's built on vanilla Escalation, so the overall win conditions and objectives are the same. I am working on a newer version that will be a little different, but it won't be out for awhile.

Is there a win condition for destroying all enemy hangars/helipads?
game basically ends when the enemy cant spawn more planes

Pretty neat mission, thanks for posting.

I did notice a bug at the main enemy airfield though. The units spawned by the vehicle depot there have a pathing issue and get stuck on the factory on the SW side of the airfield. This results over time in 50+ vehicles being stuck and driving up against the factory building.

Phew, co-op is absolutely required, tried this solo and the air defense was able to intercept my stealthiest, largest payloads.
