I think for younger teens it's fine! I put legends and DJ's and monsters in my mod because you're right that its got to be fun. Kids learn fast when it's fun, and they pick up repeated details of names, language, places, geography, economy etc.

My mod is definitely not suitable for history classes, as it incorporates some pseudo-history and playful mythological elements. I appreciate your understanding, though! If I'd a different career and more time to dedicate to ensuring historical accuracy in every aspect of the mod, I would have done so. Of course, fun factor is ultimately the most important aspect :>

The reason I mentioned "Beyond the Cape" mod is that the Irish strait crossing is nixxed and with the Soldier's Song set up, Ireland is now a crazy cauldron every game with different outcomes. My mod is focused on surviving on the most busted islands, keeping ireland hotly contested gives a chance for my north sea nations to find their feet. As i said, light flavourcraft and gameplay tweaks is the right recipe for me. Nice work.

My main issue with EU5 is a game shouldnt take 3 years to learn to play when mods like Soldiers Song and Beyond the Cape should be used in high school history. Teachers are probably too constrained to embrace game culture yet but it will be massive and paradox has the claim on this huge empty space.

Ireland was not colonised by England historically, You are wrong fool. It was a cultural exchange.

nevermind, i speed ran some fixes. thank you guys for the help!
cyle  [author] 10 Jul @ 10:33am
thank u ill check it out, should have an update coming in the next couple of days :>

as for compatibility, I'm unsure and honestly would expect issues with something like ET, but ur free to try it at ur own discretion
cattette 8 Jul @ 10:12am
Province event SS_irish_province_events.1 is written incorrectly and may crash the game. Check the MtH modifier, its trying to check the stability of the province while what you probably meant for it to do is check for the stability of the province owner.

Does this have any compat with Extended Timeline, plus mods that add new bookmarks?

All good, hoping to stave off some erroneous bug reports for you.

- text file in the rebel_types folder is not named properly

A pattern I noticed looking at this mod's files is that there's many instances where you have to overwrite a mostly unrelated vanilla file to add a single thing, mostly due to your new subject type's implementation in a vanilla file rather than a seperate file. It's difficult not having access to the subject_type trigger from overwriting 00_subject_types.txt but you can still check for a unique identifier by firing an effect to add a country flag or event modifier to the subject instead of checking subject type. You can take this principle and apply it to the other single changes you have to make, such as using the regular march opinion modifier (using copy_from = march) and then additively adjusting with modifier_subject and modifier_overlord or event modifiers etc.

Looks like a cool mod, I was planning on using it for an Ireland run but noticed a couple of issues with mod compatibility. I'll list them here just so you know:
- You've copied the entirety of the vanilla 00_static_modifiers.txt to add a single modifier for Irish Marches. You may want to consider implementing this as an event modifier.

- Similarly, you've copied the entire 00_on_actions.txt to add an event on_startup. Since patch 1.36, On Actions can be defined in a seperate file in the same folder and will combine without overwriting. I recommend looking at the EU4 Wiki's On Actions article in the modding section for documentation.

- Your localisation replacers are attempting to overwrite vanilla files instead of using the replace folder method. I recommend looking at the EU4 Wiki's page on localisation, as this is one of the few things Paradox has made easy for us.

Identical to Vanilla:
- 00_cb_types.txt
- 00_estate_modifiers.txt
- 00_wargoal_types.txt is

I'm getting a crash when I convert to insular and then hover over the next mission in the religious mission branch. The only other mods I have are graphical map improvements and loading screen text plates so I doubt that effects it. Is this a known bug?
DJRomantech 16 Jun @ 7:41pm
i'm new to modding with irish catholic on both sides. looking for colonial balances, light historical flavour and lore. the portugal mod "beyond the cape" is excellent and id like to see more flavourful balance for a fighting ireland and netherlands so ill run it in my stack with responsible blobbing/war. Cheers!
cyle  [author] 9 Jun @ 8:36pm
It upgrades your government based on which one you were before 🦔
Masterchief131 9 Jun @ 9:15am
Nevermind, I just didn't read the decision tool tip properly.
Masterchief131 9 Jun @ 9:11am
When I form Ireland, the decision says that I'll change to a kingdom, but I stay a republic. Is it supposed to change? Or is the decision tool tip wrong?
TheSilverhawk 9 Jun @ 6:48am
ok,and its fine im more than used to other mods shafting me, haha
cyle  [author] 8 Jun @ 9:53pm
Ohhhhhhh yeah there are DLC requirements for a lot of things, unfortunately. When I assemble my new laptop, I can review where I can adjust some things to make it available for users without specific DLCs, but I cannot promise anything as of now. soz paradox greedy company :c
TheSilverhawk 8 Jun @ 9:49am
Also is there the possibility that i have to have Rule Britannia in order for the mod to work? just a thought that came to mind
TheSilverhawk 8 Jun @ 9:42am
No i did not
cyle  [author] 8 Jun @ 4:04am
Did you have random new world enabled or any other game setting that affects the map?
cyle  [author] 7 Jun @ 6:37pm
I'm gna be totally honest, I have not been able to reproduce this issue. I'll try loading it up on a separate account with the mod subscribed and see if that bears fruit. If anyone else is having this issue, please let me know.
TheSilverhawk 7 Jun @ 12:54pm
update to my previous comment: the missions are also not present for Ireland itself
TheSilverhawk 7 Jun @ 12:49pm
Hello! I've tried the mod for the first time today and ive got a bug where the mission tree for the irish minors isnt different it has the generic conquest and development missions and your unique religious missions. im playing with only this mod. thank you for your time
Siren 3 Jun @ 6:10am
Thanks for the long and detailed response.

Bugs should be fixed btw, thanks Totteficator!

I'm still in the learning phase, as evidenced by my not-so-polished project, and I intend to continue developing my skills with the primary goal of modding for EU5 [ once I fix my pc :( ]. A notable issue I encountered while learning was that the documentation may often be lacking. However, I don't want that to discourage you from trying your hand at modding as well. Your primary consideration should be how much time you can dedicate, especially if you're learning every aspect of modding EU4, from the graphical elements to the coding. I had to learn C++ to get started, and I highly recommend using Visual Studio along with an extension like CW Tools - Paradox Language Services by Thomas Boby for PDX scripting support. Additionally, the EU Discord server has a text chat where you can get modding assistance, and there are usually people willing to help. Feel free to reach out to me on Discord @clabhta, and I'll be glad to assist with any questions about anything I've done myself.
Siren 31 May @ 8:08am
How challenging was it for you to learn how to mod EU4?
cyle  [author] 26 May @ 5:51am
I'll address the bugs as soon as I can! I've been troubleshooting some hardware issues, so it might take a bit longer than usual.

Regarding the localisation of the Dublin province, Átha Cliath is the modern Irish name for Dublin. From what I understand, the name Dublin itself is the anglicised version of Dubhlinn, which literally means "Blackpool" in Irish—where "black" is translated as "dubh" and "pool" as "linn." I came across information suggesting that Dublind was the Middle Irish term. Although I couldn't personally verify it's linguistic integrity, it fit better on the map, hence why I chose it. As for why Átha Cliath and Dublin share no intrinsic meaning, yet both refer to the same city, the separate nomenclature were originally for two individual settlements, both on the River Liffey.

Also, France enforced a PU over Burgundy and got them as an Aontastáit.

Hey man! Cool mod! I found a few bugs/issues in the mission tree:

"Custodian of all Druids" requires that you are great power 2 or worse. This means that it can't be completed as great power 1, but can be completed as rank 2-8.

"Expanding the Harbour" requires the monument at tier 1. Impossible to complete if you have upgraded the monument higher.

"Placate Englishtown" did not seem to work with the "recent uprising" condition. I did complete it just fine with the other option.
Alastors_Game 23 May @ 11:37am
So why Dublind instead of Meath or Baile Átha Cliath? I couldn't find any source online supporting it?
Alastors_Game 23 May @ 11:01am
Is maith liom do mhod!
青沼Azuki 20 May @ 10:25am
Great mod! May I translate this mod into Chinese? :Gifting:
Shroomie 19 May @ 9:55am
i also noticed my game keeps crashing after a few decades again idk if thats bc of me using cheats or the mod
cyle  [author] 18 May @ 4:18am
was playing around with the map before I even deciding to make this project. thanks for bringing this to my attention :>
Shroomie 17 May @ 12:48pm
i don't know if this is the mod or just my game but it is saying various parts of europe are the wrong climate such as it saying the france and england are tropical and germany and scotland are arid
cyle  [author] 15 May @ 1:33am
ill make the unique temple modifier prolly sometime tmr.

as for hre options, i thought about it. I might look into it in the future if I find the time cuz I do agree it would be really cool to revert europe to celtic roots n even maybe foster a celtic hre. thank you for ur input !!
Yamakoki 13 May @ 7:43pm
be fun if you added an invasion of the mainland to reinstall celtic as the dominant power in europe making a psuedo HRE but celtic and emperor based in britain
TIBERIUS EQUITIUS GRACCHUS 13 May @ 6:41pm
Is it possible to integrate the marches after you make them?

Also the Temple of Uppsala modifier you get on Tuadhmhumain if you go pagan doesn't work. Since it requires you to be norse to function.

If you won the clergy rebellion when changing the religion to druidic and then hover over the influence of the Clergy. it says "Aftermath of the Ulema Rebellion"
cyle  [author] 11 May @ 11:52pm
The issues related to the Dunluce Castle modifier, the Druidic Subject event, and the Druidic Clergy Rebellion Aftermath event have all been resolved. For more details, please refer to the Change Notes. In future updates, you can find any bug-related patches listed in the Change Notes tab at the top of the Workshop page. Thank you.
