Description
Scarab-"Starter Hover Multi-function" 2 (HV Class 1)

Role: PVE starter HV, inexpensive, designed for mining upgrade+, player level 5 unlock, utility

Built for Xcaliber's August challenge.
https://discord.gg/qmm4uWy

This is a new designed starter HV that can be upgraded to a miner at player level 10. This is based on the original Scarab-SHM built some time ago. The idea is to build a starter HV unlocking at player level 5 requiring no rare resources, but also can be used as a miner once reaching player level 10. For a small HV it does have a lot of features and a decent amount of storage.

Upgrading this HV at player level 10:

At player level 10 it is designed to mount 6 drilling modules as well as HV Med station. Stock features include 2 constructors, fridge, clone chamber, WiFi, Long range detector, 9.7K harvest storage, 4K storage, 690 ammo storage, air tight back room, drone hatch, armor locker, hover boaster, 2 Gatling guns, and interior cockpit access. It also has spots to add 2 turrets of your choosing.

Offense and Defense:

The Hull is built with cargo extensions and some steel blocks. This HV is not designed to support a shield. It also comes with 2 gatling guns and 2 turret mount points (3x3)

Features summary:

1. Unlocks at player level 5
2. Inexpensive, requires no rare materials including cobalt.
3. 2 constructors, 1 fridge, armor locker, 9.7K Harvest storage, 4K regular storage, 690 ammo storage
4. Wifi, long range detector and spotlights with P menu control
5. Clone Generator, small drone hatch (with P menu control)
6. Designed space for medic station (Player level 10) in backroom
7. Designed space for 6 drill modules (Player level 10) on front in a standard bore spread.
8. Hover booster
9. Oxygen and o2 station
10. 2 turret mount points (Turrets not included)
11. Interior cockpit access

I hope you enjoy!

Here a mod of the vessel to play at T1 with the game version 1.10+:

I've made substantial mods to the ship, but still at T1 it's at 7900, too much for T1.

I don't think that in version 1.10+ you can play this as a T1 in Survival, you need a T2 extender and then say hello to Titanium Rods and Neodynium in the blueprint.

Superb starter HV, the first thing I'll do is removing the clone chamber when playing in SP, but: Is there any solution to add a ramp so you can go inside the little room without problems?

So just wanted to give this some love. This has been my go to starter for years. I have made some adaptions of course, removing the RCS's and I usually don't play with CPU. I tend to keep it pretty stock though, adding some fuel and gen along with drills after initial creation. I love it so much I have a slightly elongated version I dubbed SSM2 as a starter SV which works quick well for a cheep starter. (I haven't posted it or anything). Anyways, always loved this build and it has always done me proper for a starter HV.

FYI this blueprint doesn't work as intended in RE. It doesn't have enough CPU at stock level to support its stock equipment.

You can also remove most or all of the RCS

@Starforge Once you add a medic station, the clone chamber is no longer required. The clone chamber space can be used to bump up cpu easily.

@Starforge this blueprint is from pre CPU times

Seem to have found the issue... It appears that the CPU is WAY too low for the installed equipment? 5% efficiency. Do your builds not take CPU into account? May be good to put that somewhere in the description :( feels bad to look forward to getting something that looks so great to have it explode on you. :(
